SATO Brewpub will release Syla, a 9.1% Belgian Tripel, to benefit the people of Ukraine. For every pint sold, $2 will be donated to The Ukrainian American Freedom Foundation, a non-profit in support of Ukrainian medical and humanitarian aid.

Originally designed and brewed in Kiev by Pravda Beer Theatre, the beer showcases fruity grape and mandarin orange flavors complimented by light clove, white and black pepper as well as the additions of spices including coriander. The ABV is a reference to Ukraine’s 1991 independence from the USSR.

“This recipe was originally released online by Pravda [Beer Theatre] as a way to build an international community in support of Ukraine,” SATO Head Brewery Evan Flurry said. “While some minor adjustments were made to our version, Sato Brewpub is committed to the ideal of building community and supporting the Ukrainian people.”

Pravda describes Syla as a “classic take on a Belgian-style Tripel, blonde in color with a perfect balance of sweetness and alcohol.” It’s brewed with Pilsner, Caramunich and Wheat malts and Magnum, Celeia and Perle hops. Pravda adds that it pairs well with white meat.
