On June 3, you can help Rusty Nickel Brewing celebrate 8 years with numerous beer releases, a full day of live music, food from Yankee BBQ, drink specials, including beer slushies, lawn games and more.

The beer is the true main event of the show as Rusty Nickel is pulling out all the stops when it comes to their tap list for this special event, which includes Pineapple Kickin’ Back Session IPA, Honeydew Kölsch, Mug Club Brew: Strawberry Blood Orange Wheat, Maibock, Peach Mango Hard Seltzer, Citrus Lager, Strawberry Banana Daiquiri Sour, and Half Slice, a crushable and sessionable little sister to Slice O’Havens, their 9.8% Imperial Orange Vanilla Cream Ale. There will also be fresh Masked Defender: Triple Berry and Masked Defender: Caramelized Pineapple.

“Our company’s short history is grounded by a healthy dose of resilience, perseverance, lots of help from friends and family, and perhaps most of all doing things ‘just a little different,’ ” Rusty Nickel President Jason Havens said. “Before we found our home in West Seneca behind the Ebenezer Ale House, we [spent] 18 months scraping money together, designing every detail of the tasting room, gutting the old dance studio-turned-collection agency, and rebuilding nearly the entire space ourselves. It’s a space we love to enjoy, share with friends and family and it’s comfortable for anyone. When you walk in, there’s a cabin in the woods vibe and with an expansive outdoor patio and beer garden space.”

There will be live music all day long. Look for performances from Ben Smith (1:30 – 2:15pm), Sara Elizabeth (2:15 – 3:00pm), Wacko Fest (3:00 – 5:30pm), Snow Cricket (5:30 – 6:30pm), Trever Stribing (6:30 – 7:30pm), and UnderCover (7:30-9:30pm).

“Western New York was the perfect place to start a small brewery,” Rusty Nickel co-owner Dave Johnson said. “This region is well known for its kind hearted people who are both caring and supportive. We have benefitted from this and try to give back as often as we can. We want to say thank you for giving us a chance, supporting us, encouraging us and standing by us as one of you hometown breweries. We truly appreciate it.”

This event is free and reservations can be made for the seating area under their covered pergola with views of the band, here. Reservations are limited to three hours. Two item minimum per guest. Open seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis on the side patio, around the main fire pit, and in the tasting room.

“Rusty Nickel and I would like to thank the entire WNY community, the residents of the West Seneca, our neighbors, our close followers, our critics, our suppliers, the farmers across NYS and beyond, anyone who came through the doors, or plans to do so in the future, made a purchase or simply provided us feedback, our friends and of course our families,” Havens added. “We are here because of you, we are here for you, we have learned a tremendous amount and continue to do so daily, we have improved greatly, we have listened carefully, grown as individuals, as a team and as a business, and will to continue to do all of these things, but we are able to do so because of you and aspire to make you proud. E Beeribus Unum!”

Doors open at noon, party kicks off at 2pm.

“It’s tough to look back and think about how far we’ve come. In fact, sometimes looking back at old photos I think to myself, what were we thinking and how did we actually see through the forest in front of us at the time, but we always did,” Havens said.

And if you’re wondering, the traditional eight-year anniversary gifts are bronze and pottery.
