Pressure Drop Brewing are planning to open a new taproom at the former Nye Park Tavern, located at 1672 Elmwood Avenue. The brewery hopes to open their taproom during the first quarter of 2022 with a full kitchen after looking for a new location for the last two years.
While most of the brewing operations will continue to take place at the Barrel Factory in the Old First Ward, future plans call for a small brewing system at the location, which will produce small batch beers exclusive to Elmwood.
“We are planning on eventually putting a small pilot system into the new place,” Kolbe said. “The plan for the brew system over there is to do all oak fermentation. It will be relatively small, but a pure funk program. There will be special releases that will only happen there. No funk will leave the building. It’s all going to be super creative.”
Pressure Drop beer will also continue to be available at the Lakeward Spirits taproom.
“Nothing changes at the Barrel Factory,” Kolbe said. “Our beers will still continue to be available there.”
Since 2017, the brewery has called the Barrel Factory home.
