Resurgence Brewing Plans Chicago Street Grand Opening Weekend
While it has been open for a few weeks, Resurgence Brewing’s new home on Chicago Street in the Old First Ward will have an official grand opening this weekend, July 11-14. Starting at 3pm on Thursday, the weekend-long celebration will feature Beer Slushies and live music from The Burkharts and Mayday Buffalo with Earth Rider and The Fredtown Stompers performing Friday. Saturday will feature a live DJ, giveaways and a specialty food menu as well. There will also be four can releases on Saturday, including DDH Citmo IPA, Head in the Clouds Double IPA, Loganberry Wit, R&D New England IPA.
Drink Local on the High Seas on the Spirit of Buffalo
Nothing says summer more than hitting the open waters with local craft beer in hand, two things you can do aboard the Spirit of Buffalo. Craft Beer Cruises set sail Tuesdays (6-8pm) and feature a two-hour cruise, light snacks and locally-made beer from Flying Bison (August 6, September 3), Pearl Street Brewery (July 16, Aug. 20), 42 North (July 23), Resurgence (July 30, Aug. 27), 12 Gates (Aug. 13, September 10), Community Beer Works (Sept. 17) and Old First Ward Brewing (Sept. 24). 42 North is Throwing a (Sour) Beer and Cigars Party
42 North Brewing’s 42 Below Barrel House is teaming up with Nice Ash Cigars for a Sours & Cigar Party on July 10 (5pm). 42 Below are rolling out two new sours for the event, which will feature live cigar rolling in the biergarten and live music from the Singlecoils. The beers are Verboden, a Flanders Brown, Flanders Red and Belgian Blonde blend aged in oak barrels for up to 3 years, blended with black currant and red raspberry, and Eletarria, a Flanders Brown, Flanders Red and Belgian Blonde blend aged in oak barrels, spiced with Elettaria cardamomum & vanilla.
Four Mile Presents 4th Annual Enchanted Mountains Brewfest
Four Mile Brewing are bringing together the brightest of the Buffalo-Niagara beer scene for the fourth annual Enchanted Mountains Brewfest, July 13 (2-5pm). Sample over 20 small batch beers brewed by members of the WNY beer scene, who will display their locally made products in the beer garden at Four Mile. There will be a live DJ during the brewfest and live music from 6-10pm for the after party. Tickets are $40 and are available at Eventbrite.com (includes souvenir glass, beer tastings, after party access, live music and food options). $10 Designated Driver tickets will be available at the door.
Local Beer on Display at Bricks & Brews at the Martin House
The seventh annual Bricks & Brews at the Martin House returns for 2019 on July 12 (6-9pm). A stellar line-up of breweries will be on hand. Among those sampling will be 12 Gates, 42 North, New York Beer Project, Big Ditch, Pearl Street, Blackbird Cider, Pressure Drop, Buffalo Brewing, Community Beer Works, Hydraulic Hearth, Resurgence, Froth, Steelbound, Ellicottville Brewing, Rusty Nickel, Five & 20, Southern Tier, Four Mile, Hamburg Brewing and Eli Fish. Food provided by Lloyd Taco Truck and Anderson’s Food Truck with live music by The Hot Club of Buffalo. Purchase tickets ($70 / $60 Members) at http://martinhouse.org.
