Community Beer Works’ newest brew, Polar Plunge Pils, was brewed in support of the 16th annual Buffalo Polar Plunge in benefit of Special Olympics New York. The beer is available at the taproom and in stores as 6-packs November 21, with $1 from every pint sold in their taproom being donated directly to Special Olympics New York.
“Polar Plunge Pils is a colorful beer that infuses Buffalo’s selfless hometown spirit into a refreshing brew that celebrates the Special Olympic New York’s work in making competitive sports accessible to all,” said CBW Co-Founder Chris Smith. “Great beer that supports even greater causes is what we pride ourselves on. We can’t wait to see everyone at this year’s Plunge — Cheers!”
The new beer captures the refreshing qualities of a light lager with aromas of raspberry; combined in a colorful blueish/purple hue. Each can is wrapped with a QR code that links back to CBW’s dedicated Buffalo Polar Plunge team page. Here, community members can join the CBW team or pledge their support with a donation.
This year’s Buffalo Polar Plunge will be held on December 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will walk, run and dive Woodlawn Beach State Park’s frigid waters in support of Special Olympics New York. Funds raised will be used to continue supporting the coached, Olympic-style sports provided to those with intellectual disabilities.
CBW was founded with a mission to celebrate and revitalize Western New York’s local beer-brewing culture. Since the first beer was poured, the company has brewed more than 300 types of beers, built a 13,000 sq/ft brewery and taproom, designed a monthly subscription service and rewards program, and launched a beer-delivery/pick-up program.
