Lafayette Brewing Company Transitions to All Lager
Lafayette Brewing will officially transition all of the taps at their Washington Street taproom to all lager this week. Plans call for Louise Blonde Lager, Roll For Damage (Mango Habanero) Lager, Pheelz Good Sour Lager (Blackberry, Blueberry, Pink Guava), Bethune Dark Lager, Disco Platypus Pale Lager, Skeet Skeet Peach Wheat Lager, Cellar Dweller Kellerbier, Millenial Falcon IPL, Ron Mexico- Mexican Lager (w/lime), Hit It From the Bock and Trainwreck. “We are offering 11 different lagers from classics to contemporary using seven different lager strains,” Head Brewer Jason Dunshie said. “We will be the only brewery in NYS to offer all lagers (as far as we know).”
Pizza Plant to Host Ukraine Benefit With Imperial Stouts
On March 13, Pizza Plant will host their first ever The Ukrainian Freedom Imperial Stout Celebration at their Transit Road location. For the event, previously known as the “R$&@#%ns Are Coming,” Pizza Plant will donate a portion of beer sales directly to the Buffalo Ukrainian Cultural Center (options will be available for all to make individual donations as well). Ukrainian flags will be given to guests who purchase a flight. Beers include Resurgence Brewing Genus Cocos, 2019 Aslin Moonshield, Other Half Imperial Stout, 2018 & 2019 Founder KBS and CBS and 2019 & 2021 Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout.
97 Rock Home Show Happy Hour Returns to Buffalo Home Show
Not only is the Buffalo Home Show returning to the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center this year (March 11-13), so too is The 97 Rock Home Show Happy Hour. The event, hosted by Tom Ragan from Shredd & Ragan In The Morning, features craft beer, cider wine, games, trivia and more, each Friday night (5-7pm), free for all Home show attendees 21 and over. 42 North Brewing and Community Beer Works will be pouring different craft beers each Friday. You can save $2 by buying tickets in advance online.
Community Beer Works Going Back to Saturday Mornings
Community Beer Works are taking us all back when we looked forward to Saturday mornings with the release of Saturday Morning Cartoons Australian-Style Pale Ale on March 11 (3pm). This beer is brewed with Galaxy, Sabro and Mosaic hops for flavors and aromas of passion fruit, mango and berry blend with a candy-like sweetness in the finish. The beer will be available on draft and in cans. Presale is available now at communitybeerworks.com.
Beers for Ukraine at Southern Tier Brewing
All day on March 10, Southern Tier Brewing will host Beers for Ukraine at The Empty Pint in Lakewood (3-9pm) and at their Buffalo location (11am – 10pm). $3 from every beer purchase will be donated to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund, which is providing aid in urgently delivering needed items such as: water, food, hygiene kits and ongoing support to children, families and the elderly in Ukraine.
Cider Brunch, Rye BA Awesome Jenkins at Thin Man
This Friday, Thin Man will release bottles of Rye Barrel Aged Awesome Jenkins, a 14% imperial stout that spent two years in Willet Rye barrels for notes of tootsie rolls, marshmallow and spice, a velvety mouthfeel and warming alcoholic finish. This beer will be available at all Thin Man locations.
Thin Man Elmwood is also welcoming BlackBird Cider Works for their second ever Cider Brunch on March 13. BlackBird’s Red Barn, Estate Reserve and Chandler Street Cherry ciders will be available, along with Thin Man beers, cider-infused brunch menu specials and cider-infused mimosas and cocktails.
Pressure Drop Releases Latest Episode of Space Monkey Saga
Pressure Drop Brewing is continuing their Space Monkey IPA saga with Episode 7: Space Monkey Awakens. This 9% imperial IPA is brewed with Mosaic and Simcoe hops and is deceptively crushable. It’s crisp, clean and dry with balanced bitter finish. Cans of Episode 7 will be available at Wegmans, as well as wherever great craft beer is sold, this week. Pressure Drop is also expected to announce the opening of their new Elmwood Avenue taproom in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to their social channels for updates.
