42 North Brewing Company and 2085 Brewery in Ukraine have launched a collaborative beer and are calling on breweries across the globe to brew a beer and donate its proceeds to support the Ukrainian people.

The beer, RESOLVE, will donate proceeds to the Global Empowerment Mission, which is providing aid to both the fighters and families that remain in Ukraine, as well as the refugees that have fled to neighboring Poland.

The collaborative effort will provide participating breweries with a recipe, can artwork and information on how to donate the beer’s proceeds. In addition to 42 North, over 20 breweries across the world are launching RESOLVE, including both Thin Man Brewing and Resurgence Brewing Company in the Buffalo region.

For 42 North Brewing, the invasion of Ukraine has hit even closer to home as a member of its brewing family, Ukrainian-born Naz Drebot, was the inspiration for this campaign. Naz helped launch 42 North in 2015 and has since worked alongside and collaborated with breweries across the globe. Currently, Naz is the head brewer and co-founder of 2085 Brewing in Kyiv and remains in his home country of Ukraine supporting the resistance.

42 North’s recipe is a light, fruity and refreshing kellerbier in which the 42 North brew team collaborated with Naz Drebot for the recipe design. The beer is now available at the 42 North taproom in East Aurora and on-shelves at fine craft beer retailers throughout Western New York.

“Everyone is looking for ways to help. We could not just stand by and watch the horrific events in Ukraine without doing something,” stated 42 North Founder John Cimperman. “The resolve of the Ukrainian people is an inspiration to all. We hope, in some small way, the brewing community can come together to help the great people of Ukraine.”

42 North and 2085 Brewery have provided a few recipe options for Resolve. Participating breweries are not mandated to use these specific recipes, but can use them as a guide for their Resolve beer, taking into consideration available ingredients and regional influences.

The designated charity for this collaborative effort is the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM). GEM is providing emergency aid to the fighters and families in Ukraine, as well as humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian families that have fled to neighboring Poland.

About Global Empowerment Mission

The Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), based in Doral, FLA, is providing emergency aid inside Ukraine to the fighters and families that have stayed behind as well as women and children that are trying to cross the border into Poland.

In addition, GEM is providing housing to the women and children that are attempting to cross the border from Ukraine to Poland and are housing them in Medlyka and the surrounding areas in apartments, hotels and Airbnb’s.

If they have family in other countries and have the proper documentation with them, GEM arranges flights for families out of Poland and to their preferred destination.
