Pressure Drop Brewing is opening a brewpub located at 1672 Elmwood Avenue in the former Nye Park Tavern/ Papa Jake’s. The new location is in addition to the brewing facility in the Old First Ward.
The new location will be serving Pressure Drop beers on tap, along with NYS liquor, wine, and cider and will offer a menu of shareable plates i.e. sliders and loaded fries, as well as brunch on the weekend.
After surviving the early months of the pandemic by way of loading dock sales, Pressure Drop Brewing decided that they needed to pivot into more of a retail direction permanently.
Through industry contacts, they were introduced to Mark Hutchinson to discuss the lease of 1672 Elmwood Ave. – previously operated as Nye Park Tavern, and Papa Jake’s before that. The expanded retail location will bring 17 new jobs to the area, additional tax revenue to the city and state and a revival of a local icon.
“We are beyond excited for this!” says CEO and Head Brewer Karl Kolbe.
“This has been a long time coming, and we can’t believe it’s finally here,” says COO and Operations Manager Lexi Craine.
Pressure Drop Brewing on Elmwood will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3p-10p, Fridays, 2p-10p, Saturdays, 11a-11p, and Sundays, 11a-7p, starting on Wednesday, March 16.
