2017 Erie County Fair Beer Debuts at Flying Bison

On July 20 (5-8pm), Flying Bison will premiere the official 2017 Erie County Fair beer, a 10% Baltic Porter brewed by homebrew contest winner Sean Wall. The heavy-hitter pours a pitch black, with rich roasted flavors and a good amount of hop bitterness. Keg tapping and toast at 5:30pm, music by Robert “Freightrain” Parker 6-8pm and Antone’s at the Fair and Polish Villa food trucks will be set up for dinner. Additionally, Flying Bison will have the original ECF Beer to serve alongside the 2017 winner, an American Pale Ale created by John Crossett and Brian Milleville 2 years ago.

Half Way To Cask Fest Weekend at Mr. Goodbar

Believe it or not, we are already half-way to Mr. Goodbar’s annual Cask Fest, and it’s time to celebrate. This weekend, July 21-23, Goodbar will have a number of casks available, including Flying Bison Spot Coffee Stout with Cascara, Community Beer Works No Goal Farmhouse Ale, Resurgence Brewing Blood Orange IPA, 42 North Enforcer DIPA, Thin Man Sympathy for a Daydream and Blackbird Cider Works Dry Hopped Cider with ginger, among others (Goodbar has also announced Wagner Valley Doppelbock with coconut and chocolate). Casks flow at noon on Friday, July 21 and will be available in full and half pints.

Thin Man to Release Sympathize for a Day Dream Ale

Thin Man Brewery continues to expand their beer arsenal with the release of Sympathize For a Day Dream Dry Hopped Mix Fermentation Golden Ale (6.7%), which is fermented with a blend of dozens of yeasts then dry hopped with Galaxy and Citra. The beer is described as “Day Dream pops with flavors of pineapple, orange and lemon.” Judge for yourself on July 19 at 3pm when the beer gets officially tapped. The next day, on July 20, Thin Man will host a four course beer dinner at Armor Inn in Hamburg. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased at thinmanbrewerybeerdinner.eventbrite.com.

Pearl Street Rolls Out Their Summer Beer Lineup

Pearl Street Grill & Brewery is rolling out their summer beer lineup with a celebration that only they can pull off – overlooking the city outside on their fourth floor patio. They will be running $4 pint specials on all of their summer offerings, including their Green Tea Beer (4.7%), a blonde ale brewed with green tea, lemon grass and mint, Summer SIPA Session IPA (4.4%), brewed with Columbus, Citra, and Amarillo hops, and the Spirit of Buffalo Blonde, an easy drinking kolsch style beer. Live music will be provided by Tui Osborne. The party takes place July 20 at 4:30pm.
