New York Beer Project’s annual Brewer’s Invitational brings together the best and the brightest of our local beer scene for a memorable event featuring a memorable beer list. This year’s edition will take place Sunday, February 5 (2-5pm) and will feature everything from New England IPA’s, Milkshake IPA’s and Pastry Stouts to all things Barrel Aged, sours and everything in-between.

For $50, you will receive a commemorative glass, gift card for NYBP’s gastropub menu, and access to over 50 innovative brews from 30 local breweries, cideries and meaderies. Grab tickets here. Representatives from each brewery will be in attendance, so you’ll also have a chance to chat with the people who brewed the beer in your glass.

The 2023 Brewer’s Invitational beer list (subject to change) is as follows:

12 Gates Brewing – First Bloom German-style Maibock, Citra Daze Hazy IPA

42 North Brewing – SoBo Irish Style Red Ale (traditional red ale with malty notes of caramel, toffee, and sweet malt), Barrel Aged Belgian-style Quad (aged in American oak former bourbon and maple whiskey barrels for 1 year. Flavors of honey, maple, toffee, caramel, brandy, dark fruit, oak, and Belgian spice)

Big Ditch Brewing – Carrot Cake Winter Ale, Bourbon Barrel Aged Aqueduct Imperial Stout 2022

Blackbird Cider Works – Dabinett Dry Heritage Cider (produced with a blend of traditional English and American cider apples from our estate orchard. Complex bitter sharp bitter sweet apple notes), New England-Style Cider (strong, double barrel fermented, medium dry hard cider, full bodied flavor including fermented honey notes)

Brazen Brewing – More Issues Than Vogue Chocolate Raspberry Dark Sour, Feels Like the First Time Pastry Stout

Brickyard Brewing – Thick as Thieves (Double Milk Stout with cold press coffee and maple), Highway Strobbery – Strawberry Pina Colada Sour

Community Beer Works – Bourbon Barrel Aged the Snow (2022 Imperial American stout aged for 20 months in Heaven Hills barrels), Heatrays Barleywine 2019 (American style barley wine)

Ellicottville Brewing Company – Irish Coffee Stout, Blackberry Kolsch

Flying Bison – Dubmaster IPA (East Coast-style DDH with Cryo Mosaic and Idaho 7), Bourbon Barrel Chocolate Cherry Porter (English-influenced Porter with lactose, Singer Farms Tart Cherries aged 18 months in Black Button bourbon barrel)

Froth Brewing – Juice Life Hazy IPA, Frothsty series (Ice Cream Dessert Sour)

Lilly Belle Meads – Bee Lo (Belgian ale-style mead made with Japanese Knotweed Honey. Dry and crisp, but plenty of honey flavor with notes of brown sugar, spice, and cheerios), Honey Cookie (Sweet vanilla forward mead.  Straight up tastes like a sugar cookie)

New York Beer Project – The Invitational Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (A blend of three bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts – 25% 2019 Triple Crown Imperial Stout (aged in Woodford Reserve barrels then conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans), 25% FU2020 Coconut Imperial Stout (aged in Four Roses Maple Bourbon barrels then conditioned on in-house toasted coconut, vanilla beans, and a Dominican/Haitian blend of cacao nibs) and 50% Double Barrel Aged Triple Crown (aged in freshly emptied Koval Bourbon barrels of three months then transferred to Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels for 11 months))

Paradise Falls New Zealand IPA – A hazy IPA pilot that was used only New Zealand grown hops from the regions of Motueka, Nectaron, Nelson and Riwaka. Expect big tropical and passion fruit flavors and aromas combined with robust guava, Sauvignon Blanc and pineapple

The One v43 (Island Edition) – NEIPA brewed with pineapple & mango tea: Experimental IPA version 43 features a brand new experimental hop NZH-214 from New Zealand in combination with hand selected 2022 Citra hops and Nectaron. Expect big flavors and aromatics of passion fruit, pineapple, apricot and papaya, conditioned on herbal fruit tea

Yellowstone Wild West Ale – A 3-beer blend consisting of 2 mixed fermentation barrel aged sour beers, 2019 Superfunk and 2020 Petit Sour, blended with a freshly brewed saison

Prosper Brewing – Raspy Blues Sour (Sour Ale made with raspberry and blueberry purée hopped with Huell Melon hops), RauchVienne Ale (Vienna Lager recipe with Applewood smoked malt and fermented with German Ale yeast)

Riverworks Brewing/Pearl Street – Louise Blonde Lager (German Blonde Lager), Bethune 1924 (Dark Lager aged with Maple Rye Oak)

Woodcock Brothers Brewery – The Beautiful Game #5 Hazy IPA, Smoked Maple Porter
