The National Buffalo Wing Festival is heading back to Sahlen Field, its original home located in Downtown Buffalo on August 30-31,2025. After spending the past four years at Highmark Stadium, the festival will return to the home of the Buffalo Bisons – where it all started back in 2002.
Wingfest, which was held at Sahlen Field until being forced to relocate due to the pandemic with the Toronto Blue Jays taking over the ballpark, including the weekend that the festival was to be held. In 2021, the Wingfest moved to Highmark Stadium for four years allowing the tradition to continue at the NFL stadium.
“We are beyond excited to bring the National Buffalo Wing Festival back to Sahlen Field,” said “Wing King” Drew Cerza, founder and organizer of the festival. “For nearly two decades it was the perfect backdrop for celebrating Buffalo’s signature dish. The energy, the atmosphere, intimacy of the field layout, and the connection to Buffalo’s vibrant downtown, this is the ideal location moving forward. We can’t wait to welcome wing lovers from all over the world back to this historic site! Our thanks go out to the Buffalo Bills for a great four years at Highmark Stadium.”
“This is a true homecoming for the Wing Fest. For 19 years, Sahlen Field was the place to be for wing lovers across the world. The return of this festival to its original location is a powerful reminder of how Buffalo continues to shine as a culinary destination and how much pride we take in our beloved wings.” The Buffalo Bison Baseball Organization is excited to continue our partnership with Drew and the Wingfest for years to come,” said Anthony Sprague, Bisons GM.
The 24th annual festival will take place Labor Day Weekend on August 30-31 in 2025 and will feature an incredible lineup of more than 20 local and national wing vendors, offering everything from classic buffalo wings to unique, creative takes on the iconic dish. As always, the National Buffalo Wing Festival will include live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and the much-anticipated US Chicken Wing Wing Eating Championship. Additional highlights will include wing-related competitions, a wide selection of local craft beers, and plenty of activities for people of all ages.
The festival will also continue its tradition of giving back to the local community. Since 2002, over $500,000 has been donated back to local charities. Last year 23,000 people attended, including people from 48 different states and 26 countries.
Ticket information will be available in early January.
