Get thirsty, NYC. Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) is bringing back Lager Appreciation Month this May.

For the entire month, KCBC will be celebrating these bottom-fermented brews with a broad variety of brand-new lagers, along with a jam-packed schedule of events and collaborations.

What began in May of 2020 during the first COVID lockdown, has evolved into a city-wide celebration of all things lager.

“We created Lager Appreciation Month to not only celebrate lager, but also to connect with other craft beer lovers in our community and bring some much-needed joy to all the people struggling during those early days of COVID,” says KCBC Co-Founder Zack Kinney. “And the best part was that people were really into it. By the end of May, we had people all over the world shotgunning cans of lager, doing the Lager Dance, and generally having a great time, so we decided to make it an annual thing.”

KCBC Co-Founder Tony Bellis adds, “We have a pretty simple mission statement for Lager Appreciation Month: We love lagers. You love lagers. Everyone should drink more craft lagers!”

On Sunday, May 1, WAX ON TAP DJs will be spinning vinyl at KCBC’s Brooklyn brewery all afternoon to celebrate the return of LAM.

Throughout the entire month of May, lager-lovers who visit KCBC will be able to enjoy $5 lager drafts, $10 lager flights, special deals on mixed-12-pks of lager cans-to-go, weekly Monday night lager-themed trivia & more. The brewery will also be co-hosting lager-centric events at Blind Tiger in Manhattan on Wednesday, May 18.

KCBC’s beer release schedule for the month will include a 10 Plato Czech Pilsner collaboration with Other Half Brewing, a Mexican Style Lager w/ Grapefruit, an Oak Aged Wild Fermented Lager, a New Zealand Style Pilsner collaboration with Hop Revolution Farms & Hallertau Brewing (NZ), an Oak Aged Dark Lager with Coffee collaboration with Spectrum Coffees, and more.

The brewery is planning to end the month with the “Worldwide Lager Shotgun” on Tuesday, May 31 at the brewery, encouraging 21+ lager fans everywhere to film and post to their social media tagging @kcbcbeer at 6pm. KCBC also has plans in the works to host a lager-focused festival in Brooklyn next year during May.

Lagers may take several weeks longer to produce than traditional ales, but if previous Lager Appreciation Month sales are any indication, these fresh new KCBC releases won’t last long in the marketplace. Lager lovers should be sure to follow @KCBCbeer on all social media channels for the latest news and updates.

LONG LIVE LAGER!
