Last year’s smash hit for Genesee is back! Genesee Specialty Cran Orange Kellerbier was created as a drinkable and refreshing fall beer that bridges the gap between light summer beers and heavier cold weather brews. The fruit-forward, light-bodied brew will be available for a limited time in Rochester and across upstate NY.

“Cran Orange Kellerbier offers crushability with a nice balance of fall flavors that helps people transition into the next season,” said Genesee Brand Director Jaime Polisoto. “Many fall beers have a heavier malt flavor and taste. We wanted to keep Kellerbier sessionable, smooth and fun—a perfect beer for bonfires, tailgates and apple picking this fall.”

Genesee Specialty Kolsch remains the #1 Flavored Beer 12-pack in NYS for the fourth consecutive year. Cran Orange Kellerbier, along with Oktoberfest, have helped to keep people interested in Genesee Specialty throughout the late summer and fall when Kolsch is no longer in season.

“Last year, we brewed more Kellerbier than we had planned and still ran out!” said Polisoto. “This year, we doubled the amount so beer drinkers can savor the last days of summer while enjoying a great drinkable beer in early fall!”

Kellerbier is a style of lager first brewed in Germany that dates back to the Middle Ages. Kellerbier literally means “cellar beer” because it referred to any beer being aged under the brewery and served straight from the lagering vessel. Genesee Cran Orange Kellerbier is brewed with both the brewery’s German heritage and the beer’s history in mind, but with a modern twist: the addition of cranberry and orange flavors. The result is a bright, refreshing lager with delicious fruit flavors that complement a light malt body.

Fans can find Cran Orange Kellerbier in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans across upstate NY starting this week.
