Are you a dog or a cat person? It’s a simple question, one that has been asked since people started keeping them as pets. But this weekend that age old question as to which furry friend you prefer doesn’t need to be answered as Steel Leaf Brewing and One-Eyed Cat Brewing are celebrating both in proper fashion – with weekend-long parties.

It’s simple. Choose both. We can agree that dog and cats are both pretty cool, right?

If you prefer friendship of the canine variety, Steel Leaf is throwing The Dog Days of Summer beginning on Saturday, and if you’re more of a feline person, One-Eyed Cat, fittingly, is celebrating the Cat Days of Summer at their brewery on Sunday.

Love dogs? Bring them out to Steel Leaf this weekend for The Dog Days of Summer, a special event featuring vendors, pools, activities for the entire family and raffles, all for a good cause. Steel Leaf is transforming their parking lot into a total play park for you and your pet, complete with a giant 3ft. pool, boozy popsicle stand, beer tent, food, games and fun. The weekend-long event kicks off Saturday at 11am.

“Dog Days is a special event at the brewery to round out your summer,” Steel Leaf Owner Jeff Pitts said. “Bring your pet and enjoy the end of August! We have a wonderful list of activities including a 3 foot pool, 3 splash pads for your furry friends, a beer tent and wine slushie for you. Hungry? We will have lots of eats, and after your snack you can browse vendors, take pictures at the Instagram wall and paw paint! It’s two days, both Saturday and Sunday, so come join us for the first annual Dog Days of Summer.”

If you’re more of a cat person, One-Eyed Cat Brewing is celebrating the Cat Days of Summer alongside Pork Bellies BBQ and Ten Lives Club on Sunday 28 (2pm). One-Eyed Cat will be donating 100% of the proceeds from every ‘Lil Stompies IPA, a NEIPA with fruit aromas and pillowy mouthfeel, sold to Ten Lives Club. Pork Bellies BBQ will also be donating 10% of their food sales that day. In addition to craft beer and BBQ, there will be adoptable cats, a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, and games. Pine Deer Project will hit the stage at 2pm.

“We are partnering with Ten Lives Club to present the Cat Days of Summer,” One-Eyed Cat Owner Patrick Alexanderson explains. “[This is] an opportunity to shed light on the work that they do. We will have a basket raffle, and donate 100% of the sales of our house NEIPA for the day. TLC will be bringing adoptable cats and Pine Deer Project will provide music.”
