Hofbrauhaus Buffalo to Tap Sommer Weizen

Hofbrauhaus Buffalo will tap Sommer Weizen on August 5 (6pm). The beer is a slightly sweeter and darker version of their Hefeweizen with aromas and flavors of wheat grain and citrus with bubblegum and mint. It’s effervescent and smooth. A parade and tapping will take place at 6pm. Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight, who flies veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials at no cost, will serve as keg tappers for the evening. Parkside Brass (6-9pm) and DJ Bobby Berlin (9pm – close) will provide music. Those in attendance will receive a free 0.3L of Sommer Weizen.

Dude’s Homebrew Competition 2022 at Resurgence in the Park

The 8th Annual Dude’s Homebrew Competition, which raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, will take place Saturday, August 6 (12-3pm) at The Lodge at Delaware Park, where homebrewers will serve samples of their beer to attendees, who will vote for their favorite beer, which will be judged by a panel of local brewers. The winners will then get to brew their entry at Resurgence. For a $30 donation, you can taste over 25 beers and receive a free tasting glass. For tickets and more information, click here.

42 North Rolls Out Special Borderland Festival IPA Cans

42 North Brewing has released special edition cans of their flagship Borderland IPA in honor of the Borderland Music and Arts Festival. The limited edition 16oz. can features special can art from Sean Daly. Cans will see limited distribution throughout Western New York and can be found at Buffalo-area Tops, Aurora Brew Works, craft beer stores and wherever great beer is sold. New York Beer Project to Release The One NEIPA G.O.A.T Series

For National IPA Day on August 4, New York Beer Project is bringing back the four most popular version of their The One New England IPA. Version 3 is a triple dry-hopped Double NEIPA with notes of ripe tangerines, mango, and fresh peaches and Galaxy, Mosaic Lupulin L2, Citra and Zythos hops, Version 29 is hopped with Cashmere, Nelson, and HBC 586 for tropical fruity aromas and flavors of guava, lychee, citrus, and mango, Version 30 was brewed with New Zealand grown Nelson Sauvin and our hand selected Pacific Northwest Citra & Cashmere for flavors of tropical fruit, red berries, passion fruit, and white grape and Version 18. These four beers will be released in mixed pack cans Thursday.

National Mead Day Presented by Lilly Belle Meads

In honor of National Mead Day on August 6, Lilly Belle Meads will host the first ever Lancaster Renaissance Street Faire (12pm). The family-friendly event will feature live music, local mead and beer from 12 Gates, Britesmith, Old First Ward, Eli Fish, Rusty Nickel and West Shore Brewing, turkey legs, ice cream, cotton candy, renaissance costume contest, street performers, axe throwing, tarot card readings, a water balloon stocks toss, food from Lilly Belle and more. Woodcock Brothers Lays Out Future Beers at Wurlitzer Location

There are plenty of new beers coming to Woodcock Brothers’ Wurlitzer location. First up is The Beautiful Game #05 NEIPA with Citra & Mosaic, which combines The Beautiful Game #02 and #04 recipes. Beyond that, you can expect Swimming Pool Spaceships, a hazy IPA with Cosmic Punch yeast and Phantasm powder, NYS Cascade hops, Cashmere, Citra, and dry-hopped with Citra and Azacca, Bare Essentials, a hazy session IPA brewed with Cascade, Azacca and double dry-hopped with Citra, Hallertau Blanc, Nelson Sauvin and Huell Melon hops and Draped in Velvet, a fruited sour with blueberry, cherry, and vanilla.
