The first ever Tap & Craft Festival, coming to the Niagara Falls Convention Center on October 29, will feature craft brews from more than 30 craft breweries, wineries and cideries from Upstate New York, live music, food and a cornhole tournament. Big Ditch to Release Official Beer of the Turkey Trot, introduces Slayburner

Big Ditch Brewing has partnered with the YMCA to release “Turkey Trotter,” the first beer ever brewed to celebrate the Buffalo Turkey Trot. Described as a “perfect finish line beer,” Turkey Trotter is a blonde ale featuring crackery malt flavor and light hoppy fruit flavor. Turkey Trotter is available on draft or to-go in 6-packs of 12oz. cans at Big Ditch and at craft beer retailers and supermarkets throughout Western New York in the coming week. Cans will feature a QR code, which can be scanned to register for the Turkey Trot race.

In addition, Big Ditch will release Slayburner on October 7, their classic Hayburner IPA brewed with blood oranges to enhance the citrus aroma, while adding a touch of tart and sweetness. Slayburner will be available on draft and in 16oz. cans to go.

Pizza Plant Presents Annual Tim’s Beer Show Tasting Event

On October 12 (7pm), New York’s longest running beer event, Tim’s Beer Show, returns to Pizza Plant Transit. The curated tasting experience, hosted by Flying Bison’s Tim Herzog, features Herzog hosting a unique journey through beer, from light to dark to extreme as you sample, discuss and learn about beer. This year’s event will feature the premiere of beer from Pod City Beer Labs, and special kegs of Hill Farmstead Double Motueka and Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout. Tickets are $40 and include a tasting glass to keep, Pizza Plant breadsticks and 12 4oz. beer samples. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.

Resurgence Brewing to Host Eric Wood Beer Release Party

Resurgence Brewing and former Bills star Eric Wood are teaming up on Eric Wood’s Blonde, which benefits the Evan Wood Fund, which helps chronically ill children and their families at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. The beer will be released on October 8 (12pm). Attendees can donate for a chance to win an autographed Eric Wood snow game poster or RBC gift card.
