While the doors have been open and the taps have been flowing at West Shore Brewing for the past few months, the Clarence brewery (10995 Main Street) are celebrating their official grand opening as part of Buffalo Beer Week.

West Shore is teaming up with Buffalo Slow Roll and Discover Main Street for the grand opening gala, which will feature live bands, including bluegrass band String Theory and classic rock band The Donnolleys. Buffalo Slow Roll’s summer ride drew over 500 cyclists.

“We are very excited to partner with Buffalo Slow Roll and Discover Main Street on our grand opening party,” West Shore owner Josh Dziomba says. “The customer response so far has been so positive that we cannot wait for this grand opening and all the exciting stuff on the horizon.”

West Shore will have seven beers on tap, plus guest taps from 42 North Brewing and 1911 Cider. Smoke, Fire, & Spice and The BBQ Truck – J&L’s Boulevard BBQ will be providing the BBQ and the Salad Bar Truck will be providing healthier fare. In addition to their current lineup of West Shore Wheat (4.6%), NBB ESB (Not So Bitter Bitters)(5.3%), an IPA series with rotating hop bills, and their Historic Rail Pale Ale, West Shore will debut a new local wet hopped pale ale, featuring hops from Lupulin Farms outside Fredonia, for the event.

“People have been asking us for a bigger IPA,” Dziomba says of West Shore’s latest IPA. “[So] come on out and get our newest IPA. This Chinook and Citra blend comes in at 85 IBUs and 7.3%.”

West Shore occupies a 1,900 square foot space, which includes a tasting room littered with photos of the West Shore Railroad, and small brew house. “I do all my brewing in the space that some have for just bar space,” Dziomba says. The space features a 3bbl brew house that can ferment 6 batches at a time in between two storage rooms. “Capacity wise we can produce about 300bbls a year in this facility before we would need to expand,” he adds.
