Wayland Brewing Now Offering Flights
Wayland Brewing is now offering flights – you can now get four 4oz. draft pours for $11. You can get one, or not, of Wayland’s newest lagers – La Biere, a collaboration with Moriarty Meats, brewed with French malt and Strisselspalt hops. This lager features floral and citrus aromas, is light and clean, with notes of subtle bread crust and citrus, and finishes crisp and refreshing. Analog is a Czech Pilsner that’s very light and crisp, with notes of toasted bread and malt. La Biere and Analog are both available in cans and on draft at the taproom. Analog is available on side pull.
Hofbrauhaus to Tap Hopfenweizen for June
June’s barrel tapping at Hofbrauhaus Buffalo will feature the return of their Hopfenweizen on June 5. If you’re new to this style, this is a 6.5% hazy beer with a thick white head, fruity and tropical aromas, and notes of pithy orange and pineapple juice with a clean bitterness on the end. The hops used are all new-world (Citra, El Dorado and Simcoe) and the yeast is Hofbrauhaus’ hefeweizen yeast. The Buffalo Beer League will be on hand to help lead the parade and participate in the barrel tapping of the beer. For one night only, Stein Club memberships will be on sale for $149. For reservations, visit www.hofbrauhausbuffalo.com.

Golden Snowball Sendoff at Buffalo Brewing, Paktek Recycling
Buffalo Brewing Company is hosting a special sendoff for the Golden Snowball on June 7 (2:30 pm) as the unique award heads back to Syracuse. Mayor Ben Walsh will be on hand to reclaim the award for his city, which amassed the highest snowfall total in upstate New York this past winter, from Buffalo Councilmember Mitch Nowakowski. Pints of The Golden Snowbeer, a Cascade dry hopped cream ale made with New York state ingredients and Western New York snow, will be $5 from 1-4 pm. There will also be cans available for purchase. Buffalo Brewing says that this is the very last time this beer will be available – they will not be brewing it again.
If you’re looking for a sustainable way to rid yourself of all of those PakTechs piling up at your house, you can bring them to Buffalo Brewing Company for recycling. The brewery has a designated bin at their taproom for PakTechs, which they then collect, sort, clean and reuse or send back for proper recycling. A PakTech is a plastic beer can holder that comes in 4-pack and 6-pack varieties. And they cannot be conventionally recycled, so Buffalo Brewing stepped in to help. According to the manufacturer, returning PakTechs has kept roughly 80 million pounds of plastic out of landfills and oceans since 2012.
