Shalooby Loofer Brewing Looking to Open This Summer

Shalooby Loofer Brewing, a new brewery located at 10737 Main Street in Clarence, has announced tentative plans to open by the end of July. They have revealed that they have passed their final inspection, have obtained their certificate of occupancy and are waiting on their state license. Plans for the brewery include converting a 3-car garage into a brewery and tasting room equipped with a Ruby Pro 1 BBL Electric Brew House. Beer Kind Brewing Coming to Tonawanda

Beer Kind Brewing, a new brewery venture from Alex & Jen Buckley, has announced plans to open in the Town of Tonawanda.  The brewery will operate with a 5-barrel brewing system, a self-pour tap wall including craft beer, seltzers, New York State wine, liquor, cider, non-alcoholic beverages, and a light snack menu to start. Alex is a certified beer judge and award-winning homebrewer whose recipes have been brewed at Resurgence Brewing and Pearl Street Brewery. He also started the Traveling Growler with his family. Resurgence Brewing Acquires Blackbird Cider Works

Resurgence Brewing has acquired the Blackbird Cider Works brand from Donovan Orchards, LLC. According to a press release, this acquisition represents Resurgence’s commitment to diversifying and expanding its craft beverage offerings. Donovan Orchards will continue to own and operate the Buffalo Cider Hall, Lake Ontario tasting room, commercial orchards and juice pressing operation, and will launch a new line of orchard-based artisanal ciders under the new Donovan Orchards Estate Ciders brand. “By joining forces with Blackbird, Resurgence aims to strengthen its presence in the ever-evolving craft beverage market and further enhance the overall experience for its patrons,” the release continues.

42 North Brewing to Open Second Location Downtown

East Aurora’s 42 North Brewing have announced plans to open a second location in the theatre district in downtown Buffalo at 674 Main Street, on the 3,500-square-foot ground floor of the Wurlitzer Flats building. The brewery is once again partnering with Fat Bob’s Smokehouse to operate the kitchen and develop a new menu. Fat Bob’s will also handle food for parties at the downtown location, where 42 North at the Flats will have a 40-person banquet space. Pending city and state approval, the brewery expects to hire 10-12 people with a hope of opening by early fall.

Big Ditch Plans Triple Can Release for Holiday Weekend

Just in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Big Ditch Brewing is holding a triple can release, with two returning favorites and a new IPA. Returning are Stark White Dad Shoes IPA, brewed with New Zealand Riwaka and Australian Galaxy hops, and Cannon Call New England-style Double IPA, brewed with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, Idaho 7, and Simcoe hops. New this weekend is 6 Million Acres West Coast IPA, which features firm bitterness, citrusy and earthy flavors, and a smooth finish. Cannon Call is available now, Stark White Dad Shoes and 6 Million Acres will be available July 29.

Erie County Fair Beer & Cider Available Beginning This Week

This year’s Erie County Fair Beer, Hamburg Brewing Sticky Face, and cider, BlackBird Cider Summer Cider, will both be available wherever great craft beer and cider are sold beginning this week. Sticky Face, a watermelon wheat ale, will be packaged in 12oz. cans and will be sold in 6-packs at Tops Friendly Markets, Consumer’s Beverages and other retail outlets. The Erie County Fair Summer Cider, which features flavors of locally-grown apples, loganberry and tart cherry, will be sold in 12oz. 4-pack cans at Tops Friendly Markets, Consumer’s Beverages and other retail outlets.

Flying Bison Celebrates Belgian Beer Month

Flying Bison is kicking off their month-long Belgian Beer Month Celebration on July 1, all centered around St. Arnoldus Day on July 18, which celebrates the patron saint for hop-pickers and Belgian brewers after he saved many people from a plague by advocating people to “drink beer” instead of water. They are celebrating with their Belgian White, a Belgian wheat ale spiced with coriander and orange peel, and Down by the River IPA, a Belgian style IPA featuring Cascade, Chinook, Centennial and Idaho 7 hops. These beers will be available on draft all month long.

1927 Brew House to Launch New Seltzer Line, Drops New Beers

1927 Brew House is launching a new line of 1927 Brew House Seltzers, including Loganberry, Watermelon, Peach and Guava. These new hard seltzers will be available in cans in house and to go soon. The brewery has also released a pair of new fruited sours – Strawberry Rhubarb Sour and Cherry Pomegranate Sour. The former is an American kettle sour with bold, tart notes of cherry and pomegranate, while the latter is a lightly tart kettle sour with strawberry rhubarb notes.
