Christmas In July In January Comes To Community Beer Works
Community Beer Works doesn’t want to wait 11 months until Christmas. From January 25-29, they will be celebrating Christmas In July In January, a week-long celebration of special events and beer releases. Jan. 25 brings a White Elephant/Yankee Swap for unwanted Xmas gifts (free pints for participants) and the release of GZA Pale Ale (5% ABV), and, from there, a cask of The Whale with Plume Coffee and vanilla will be tapped on Jan. 26, kegs of Heatrays (2016), Oh Snap! Gingersnap Stout and Santa Conquers the Martians Kettle Sour get tapped on Jan. 27, CBW’s Beach Party Luau & backyard BBQ goes down from 12-6pm (GRAVY playing 5-7) on Jan. 28 and the release of Plush Destruction Oatmeal Stout (5.6% ABV) on Jan. 29. Happy Holidays! Well, sort of.
Thin Man Goes South For New Collaboration
Having already tag teamed with New York’s Barrier Brewing and Germany’s Freigeist, Thin Man Brewery is now setting their sights on Florida – Dania Beach to be exact – and 3 Sons Brewing for their next collaboration beer. The beer, a Chocolate Cherry Cordial Imperial Stout, which will be brewed at Thin Man, will be a homecoming of sorts for 3 Sons brewmaster Corey Artanis, who is originally from Buffalo. The beer will [tentatively] be brewed on January 27 and plans call for a small amount to be released on tap at Thin Man sometime in late February, with the remainder of the brew to be barrel aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels for a special winter release 2018. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Resurgence Brewing Is Droppin’ Bottles
Resurgence Brewing is getting us all in the mood for love with the release of their latest bottled offering, Imperial Sponge Candy Milk Stout, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The big 10% ABV brew features ‘decadent aromatics and flavors of rich milk chocolate, caramel and toffee that are sure to excite the senses,’ according to the description. ‘The addition of lactose sugar gives this beer a creamy mouthfeel and a huge sweetness as flavorful as any box of chocolates.’ A limited amount of 22oz. bottles will be on sale ($9 plus tax) at the taproom as soon as the doors open on Saturday, January 28 at noon. This seems like an easy way to get your V-Day shopping done early.
