Resurgence Brewing’s Kegs & Eggs Returns, Buffalo Sabres Beer Coming

Kegs & Eggs, Resurgence’s celebration of experimental beers, returns February 21 (11am). This time they will feature Lucky Charms Lager, Ooops All the Berries Sour (Lactose), Peach Maple Oatmeal Sour (Lactose), Fruit Explosion Muffin Lager, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Porter, Cookie Crisp Brown Ale (Lactose), Peanut Butter Cap N Crunch Porter, Trail Mix Stout and casks of Fruit Loops IPA and Oreo O’s Coffee Black Lager. In addition to their regular brunch menu, they will also feature Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast and more.

Resurgence will also release their Buffalo Sabres-themed mix pack, including Lite the Lamp Pilsner and Buffalo-style IPA on February 18.

Even though we can’t gather for 42 North’s 2020 Brewski, the event will continue on in true DIY fashion. Order and pick up a “DIY Brewski” Variety Pack at 42 North, then hit your favorite Knox Farm State Park trail. Empire Brewing’s Local Grind Coffee Scotch Ale is back with a reimagined coffee profile and a new partner, Premier Gourmet Coffee. This cold brew comes in at 6.5% ABV with semi-sweet caramel malt, distinctive and pronounced bold coffee notes, fresh-roasted coffee bean aromas and toasty chocolate flavors. Empire Local Grind is now available in 16oz. 4-pack cans and on tap at Ellicottville Brewing, Ellicottville Brew Pub and Tap + Bottle & Taqueria and EBC West.

Buffalo Beer Geek CollaBEERation 1.5 Mix Packs On Sale Now

Since the CollaBEERation Festival is on hold due to the pandemic, you can still taste the result of members of the Beer Geeks collaborating with local breweries. For $97.90, you will receive a 24-pack mixed with 24 unique beers from 24 breweries all across WNY and a limited edition CollaBEERation 1.5 glass. Pickups will be February 27 at Resurgence. Participating breweries include Community Beer Works, Belt Line, Fifth Frame, Froth, Rising Storm, Thin Man, Prison City and more. Sales will begin February 17 on Hopmule. There are 96 mixed cases available.

Eli Fish Holding Inaugural Homebrew Competition

The first 30 homebrewers to submit their proposed beer to adam@elifishbrewing.com will be entered into the competition and receive full instructions. Beers will be judged based on BJCP guidelines. Guest brewers from across WNY will be on the judging panel. The winning homebrewer will receive a $250 Eli Fish gift card, merchandise, and the winning brewer will be invited to brew the winning beer at Eli Fish.
