Five & 20 Brewing to Release Next Shape Shifter IPA, Rainbow Cube

The Shape Shifter IPA Series continues at Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing with the release of Rainbow Cube, the second session IPA of the series. Brewed with NY Michigan Copper, NY Centennial, NY Cluster, Azacca and Neo-1 hops, Rainbow Cube features aromas of orange peel and hibiscus and notes of grapefruit and citrus. It’s light bodied and finishes dry. Cans and draft are available now at the brewery and wherever great beer is sold soon.

Pearl Street to Release Nautical Disaster New England IPA in Cans

Pearl Street Grill & Brewery are re-releasing their Nautical Disaster New England IPA in cans on August 5 (5pm) at the second floor bar. The beer, which features notes of orange, tangerine and candied apricot, will be available in cans for the first time ever. The can art depicts the USS Ariel, a real ship that vanished in Lake Erie and was never seen again. The release party will feature 25% off all four packs, free food, live music and more.

Hofbrauhaus Buffalo to Tap Sommer Weizen Keg

Hofbrauhaus Buffalo will officially tap their new Sommer Weizen on August 4. The beer is a slightly sweeter and darker version of their Hefeweizen with aromas and flavors of wheat grain and citrus with bubblegum and mint. It’s effervescent with a smooth finish. A traditional parade and tapping will take place at 7pm. Hofbrauhaus has also announced their official grand opening will take place on September 15.

New Fruited Sour Coming This Weekend to Brickyard Brewing

Brickyard Brewing will release Who’s Your Worm Guy?, a new fruited sour with passionfruit, pineapple, guava, pineapple and tangerine, on August 7 at the Lewiston Artisan Farmers Market and the brewery taproom. Dry hopped with actual vegan gummy worms, the fruit blends together to create tart-sweet gummy vibes, making one of their most ambitious sours yet.

Thin Man Brewing Set to Drop Three Beers

It’s another weekend and another triple can release for Thin Man, who will drop a pair of lagers and a hefeweizen on August 6. Oktoberfest Marzen returns, which features bready and toasty malt character balanced by a light herbal crispness from Hersbrucker hops, Who You Calling Weiss Guy, a traditional German hefeweizen with characteristics of banana and clove with a light, refreshing body and Yuppie Cadillac, a traditional lager brewed with Czech Sladek and German Hallertau Mittelfruh, with notes of bready malt and an herbal a spicy hop character. All three will be available at all Thin Man taprooms.

Community Beer Works to Celebrate IPA Day, Host One Eyed Cat Pop-Up

This will be a busy week for Community Beer Works, who will release Strawberry Milkshake IPA on August 5 for National IPA Day, a hazy IPA brewed with Barbe Rouge and Strata hops, oats, wheat, lactose and Madagascar vanilla. Strawberry Milkshake IPA will be available for on draft and in 16oz. four-packs. They will also have $50 IPA case deals ($50 (+tax/deposit) for 24 IPAs: Broken Hammer, Business Professional, Noodle on It, Business Casual, HiBiscus and The Beer That Sank Atlantis, and an exclusive IPA Beer Talk with Director of Brewing Operations Ryan Demler ($10). They will also welcome One-Eyed Cat Brewing on August 8 for a special pop-up (12-4pm). They will be pouring their Llama Leggings Gose, Hefeweizen and more. Buckminster’s Cat Café will also have a pop-up table complete with merch, coffee and baked goods for sale and Second Chance Sheltering Network will be on-site with a selection of cats ready for adoption.

42 North Brewing, K2 Brothers Team to Brew Blueberry Lemonade Gose

42 North and Rochester’s K2 Brothers are collaborating on Gose For Miles Blueberry Lemonade to help raise awareness for two local mountain biking groups, Western New York Mountain Biking Association and Genesee Region Off-Road Cyclists. Gose For Miles is a fruited gose with blueberry and Meyer lemon, then dry-hopped with New York-grown Excelsior hops. The result is a tart, crisp and refreshing fruity crusher. The beer will be available in both Western New York and Rochester next week and at both breweries  on August 7.
