Habitat for Humanity Buffalo’s Hammer & Ales at Barrel Factory
Habitat for Humanity Buffalo’s seventh annual Hammer & Ales fundraiser returns to the Barrel Factory on March 21 (5:30pm) and will feature food & drink tastings, auctions, games, and more. The event is flannel-themed, so make sure to wear your best flannel out for the night. The event is part of Habitat’s The House Beer Built campaign, a yearly fundraiser that sees the organization partner with regional breweries, distilleries, and restaurants to raise money to build or renovate a new home. 42 North Outpost in Ellicottville at Bike & Bean Closes
42 North Brewing’s Outpost taproom in Ellicottville, located inside Bike & Bean, has closed due to the owners of the Bike & Bean deciding to pursue other opportunities. “We would like to thank Dennis and Shelley for the great partnership the last two years,” the brewery said. “We were proud to have our 42 North Outpost in their space and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.” There are no current plans to open another Outpost in Ellicottville, according to 42 North Owner John Cimperman. The satellite tasting room features 42 North beer and homemade burritos.
Brickyard Brewing Company to Hold Annual 1812 Night
Lewiston’s Brickyard Brewing Company will host their seventh annual 1812 Night on Mar. 8 (5pm), a candlelit night full of old world beer, food, music, and merrymaking. The event will feature historical interpreters from Fort Niagara, including special guest Jordan Smith, who will offer music and insight from the Indigenous American perspective, live music from Step in Time, cask ales, and a traditional menu. The event is free and seating is first come, first serve.
New Santora’s x 1927 Brew House Pilot Double IPA
Santora’s 1927 Brew House has tapped a brand new small batch Double IPA, Citra-Lo DIPA. This 8.3% IPA is brewed with Citra and Lotus hops to give it notes of tropical papaya, pineapple, and grapefruit. Look for Citra-Lo on tap right now at 1927 Brew House at Walden Galleria, as well as at each Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill location.
Eclipse & Sips Beer Tasting at Buffalo State University
Raise a toast to the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse at Buffalo State’s Eclipse & Sips Beer Tasting on Mar. 8 (6-9pm) at the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium. Enjoy eclipse-themed treats, planetarium shows, eclipse-themed merch and more while sampling local craft beer and cider from Big Ditch, Buffalo Brewing, Buffalo Olde Brewery, Community Beer Works, Lilly Belle Meads, Rusty Nickel, Sad Boys, Shalooby Loofer, and Spotted Octopus. General Admission tickets are $50 (includes tasting glass, samples, eclipse glasses, and more) and VIP are $100 (includes swag bag, private area, dedicated brewmaster and more). Pizza Plant Transit’s Imperial March of Stouts Returns
The Imperial March of Stouts, Pizza Plant’s annual celebration of world class stouts, makes a return on Mar. 10 (12pm). This year will feature four years of Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout (2019, 21, 22, 23), 2019 / 2023 Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout, Pod City Beer Labs Pandemonic, Firestone Walker Parabola, and many others, totaling over 20 in all on tap. Flights will be $5 off for anyone dressed in Star Wars gear. Additionally, members of the North Ridge Fanforce, a group of Star Wars fans who live in and around the metro Buffalo area, will be on hand for the event.
Beer Flights Now Available at Mortalis Brewing Buffalo
Flights are making their debut at Mortalis Buffalo. Starting Mar. 7, you can now pick any four beers on draft and enjoy a 5oz. sample of each. Hofbrauhaus Buffalo to Hold Marzen Barrel Tapping
Hofbrauhaus will release their seasonal offering, Marzen, on March 7 (6pm), with a special keg tapping. All guests 21+ will receive a complimentary pour. This springtime Märzen, 5.9%, brewed with Herkules and Select hops, pours burnt orange with aromas of toasted bread, floral spiciness and finishes clean and crisp.
