12 Gates of Christmas Challenge Returns to 12 Gates Brewing

It’s time for 12 Gates Brewing to open the 12 Gates of Christmas. Starting December 1, the brewery will tap a new beer for 12 consecutive days and to complete the challenge, you’ll need to be in attendance each day to get your card punched. Starting December 1, the following beer will be tapped: Chocolate Pretzel Porter, Margarita Sour, Buzz the Tower IPA, French Saison, Chocolate Blueberry Jalapeno Porter, Hot Honey Hazy IPA, Xmas Spice Amber, Strawberry Raspberry Seltzer, Salted Caramel Coffee Porter, Belgian Pale, Barrel Aged Stout and Abominable Hazy IPA. If you drink each beer, you’ll receive a custom t-shirt, bragging rights and an invitation to an exclusive party.

Wayland Brewing Now Offering Brewery Tours

If you’ve wanted to take a peek behind the curtain to see what makes Orchard Park’s Wayland Brewing tick, the brewery is now offering tours. On select Saturdays, Wayland is hosting 45-minute tours through their production facility with behind the scenes access, a rundown on their beer making process and three samples in the taproom afterwards. You can take home your sampler glass and cash in your tour coupon in the merch shop for 15% off a case of 6 packs. Tickets are $15 and are available online. Space is limited.

Deck the Halls at Pizza Plant Transit

Pizza Plant’s annual Deck the Halls fundraiser for Sleep in Heavenly Peace returns to their Transit Road location on December 3 (12pm). The event will feature a Christmas Cookie competition, Anchor Brewing Our Christmas Ale magnum bottle tapping (2pm), special Christmas beers on tap, including Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, Three Floyds Alpha Claus, Troegs Mad Elf and more, Buffalo Beer Geek Bottle share (3pm) and more. Judging for the cookie competition will take place at 4pm with the $100 going to the winning baker. Cookies will then be sold with all proceeds going towards Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Magic Bear Beer Cellar 2nd Anniversary Party

Larkin’s Magic Bear Beer cellar is turning two and will celebrate the occasion on December 2. Starting at 4pm, the first 50 guests will receive a commemorative cookie from Buffalo Girl That Bakes, Nick Spacone will perform from 5:30 – 8:30pm, regular size cans and bottles will be $2 off all night, and more. Owned by Certified Cicerone® Craig Altobello, Magic Bear seeks to promote the elevation and education of beer through educational and informational classes and events including beer tastings, pairings and opportunities to meet brewers.

Lilly Belle Meads Krampus Release Party

On December 5, Lilly Belle Meads will release their newest holiday release, Krampus, the deep and dark version of their Old St. K-Nick, a Krupnik-inspired mead that was barrel aged for a year. The meadery will host a toast of Krampus at 6:30pm, followed by a screening of the 2015 movie of the same name, a horror comedy that stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, and more.
