The Borderland Music & Arts Festival™ will highlight the best of the region’s music, arts, and crafts for a two-day festival on September 21st and 22nd, 2019 at Knox Farm State Park.
While Borderland will feature 25 national and local acts on three stages, it will also showcase the region’s growing craft beer industry with a 100% craft beer line-up for the festival. The Borderland Festival also wraps up Buffalo Beer Week, scheduled from September 16th-22nd.
“The Buffalo Niagara region has experienced tremendous growth in craft beer. We felt that the Borderland Festival is the ideal environment to showcase our region’s great craft beers and, by doing so, introduce more people to the diverse offerings from our region,” stated festival co-founder, John Cimperman. “Borderland is also a great example of the collaboration among the brewing community in the Buffalo Niagara region. Thrilled with the great breweries that joined us at this year’s festival,” Cimperman added.
During the two-day festival, the Buffalocal™ “Beer Paddock” will feature 20 taps with a line-up of signature and seasonal beers from participating breweries. Breweries include12 Gates, Community Beer Works, Flying Bison, Resurgence, 42 North, Rohrbach Brewing Company, Blackbird Cider Works, and Canada’s Collective Arts. The 2019 Borderland beer line-up is as follows:
- 12 Gates – Resting Peach Face, Festbier
- Community Beer Works – Frank, Let’s Go Pils
- 42 North Brewing Company – Borderland IPA, Oatmeal Cookie Brown Ale
- Rohrbach Brewing Company – Scotch Ale, Blueberry Ale
- Resurgence Brewing Company – Cosmic Truth, Oktoberfest
- Collective Arts – Jam up the Mash, Life in the Clouds IPA
- Flying Bison – 716 Kolsch, Aviator Red
- Blackbird Cider Works – Estate Reserve, Chandler Street Cherry
Additionally, the Borderland Festival will host a “live brew” on-site on Saturday. In partnership with the Buffalo Niagara Brewer’s Association (BNBA), local brewers will brew on-site and engage with fans to discuss the process of brewing. Additionally, the, Borderland Festival and the BNBA will host complimentary beer samplings from 12 noon until 3 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. And, finally, on Sunday afternoon, the BNBA will host a ‘Brew Talk” roundtable with regional brewers and brewery owners.
Gov’t Mule, led by former Allman Brothers guitarist, Warren Haynes, will headline Saturday night, while progressive bluegrass band, Greensky Bluegrass, headlines Sunday night. The diverse line-up also includes Rock Hall and Blues Hall of Fame legend, Mavis Staples, Austin-based, Americana artist, Shakey Graves, and American folk band, The Wood Brothers. Additionally, the Grammy winning bluegrass band, The Infamous Stringdusters and Canada’s The Sheepdogs will make their Borderland debuts.
