As announced this past May, proceeds from the sales of 42 North Brewing Company’s Day Trekker IPA benefit the Western New York Mountain Biking Association. 42 North Founder, John Cimperman, presented the first check to WNYMBA members at a special ceremony at 42 North taproom in East Aurora. The check for $1,575 represents the proceeds from June sales of Day Trekker. 42 North will continue to donate proceeds from every case sale to WNYMBA for their continued maintenance and restoration of trails in Western New York.

Joe Crumlish, President of WNYMBA, states, “From day one, 42 North has supported WNYMBA. Mountain biking and outdoor adventure is part of their DNA. This partnership will be a big help is providing some additional funding to support our mission.”

“Keep drinking so we can keep writing checks,” Cimperman added with a laugh.

WNYMBA actively hosts trail maintenance days every spring. In addition to their work at Hunter’s Creek, the Darien Lake State Park trails, and Sprague Brook Park, WNYMBA is undertaking an aggressive project to construct the Stone Tower Trail in Allegany State Park.

The Day Trekker IPA is a 4.9% sessionable IPA brewed with cascade, cashmere, and aurora hops and, as the brewery states, the “ideal beer for a day of hiking, biking, or paddling the streams of Western New York”. The artwork on the Day Trekker 12 ounce can features a map of the Ellicottville trail system. Day Trekker is available on tap and in cans at Consumer’s Beverage, Wegman’s, Tops, and other select retailers in the region.
