42 North Brewing is celebrating six years of brewing beer at their Southtowns location.

The brewery will release a special sour IPA named “4PLUS2EQUALS6” that features pineapple, banana and mango. Saturday and Sunday at the brewery will also feature special events to commemorate the anniversary. Fans will enjoy the can release, a special 42 North-inspired ice cream from East Aurora’s Rosie’s Handcrafted Ice Cream and live music by Dead Alliance Buffalo, Big J Blues & Bethy Mercer Duo. The festivities and can release start Saturday at noon.

42 North asked their tapkeepers to choose a style and name for the anniversary edition this year. They responded with “4PLUS2EQUALS6” Sour IPA, an Azacca and NYS Excelsior hop-based IPA packed with banana, pineapple and mango, then softened up with macadamia milk from local manufacturers Milkadamia®. The result is a tropical and smooth IPA with a touch of vanilla. The beer will be available at select retailers around WNY starting next week and at the brewery starting Saturday.

42 North has teamed up with Rosie’s Ice Cream to create a special handcrafted ice cream for the occasion inspired by our Oatmeal Cookie Brown Ale. Grab a root beer float and some other Rosie’s specialty desserts. The taproom will host Dead Alliance Buffalo on Saturday at 8PM with earlier music from Big J Blues at 3pm. Bethy Mercer Duo from 1-4pm.
