The WNY Beer Trail 2025 Trail Pass, a fun and exciting way to explore Western New York’s craft breweries, cideries, meaderies, bottle shops, beer bars and distilleries, is available now. It features 75 locations offering buy one, get one free discounts on craft beer and craft beverages, as well as other discounts and promotions.
This year’s pass includes new stops such as Mortalis Brewing Buffalo, Prosper Brewing, Mead People 716, The Lock Tender, Battle Street Brewing, and Pour Taproom. You can see the full list of participating venues here.
“The 2025 Pass continues our trend of growth for number of locations. The new pass has 75,” WNY Beer Trail Founder Tom Whitmarsh says. “Although we’ve lost some locations due to closures, the beer, and meadery scene especially, continues to grow. The addition of taprooms and breweries in the Rochester area are a welcome addition to the area, and to our pass. Frequentem Buffalo has an official listing this year and Mortalis Buffalo is a brand new addition. Besides Mortalis, we are welcoming Prosper Brewing, Battle Street Brewing, The Lock Tender, Pour Taproom Buffalo, and Mead People 716 to our Beer Trail family this year.”
Whitmarsh says that the Trail Pass continues to grow and they are always looking to add more and more places and spaces to the program. He adds that they are hoping to continue to expand into the Rochester area as well.
“New locations are always reaching out to us to be included and we do everything we can to fit them in, whether it’s for the start of the whole year, or at some midpoint,” he continues. “It helps us to follow our mission of supporting the local craft beverage industry while bringing the best value to Trail Pass holders. We always keep an ear out for new locations coming to the area and also looking to eventually expand more into the Rochester area.”
New for this year is that the pass will be valid immediately upon purchase, along with a discount on brewery tours at Resurgence Brewing and a guide to pet friendly locations. In addition to the traditional print version of the Trail Pass, there is also a mobile version, which offers shorter subscription periods for those looking for a trail run, or for out-of-town visitors looking for a way to explore WNY’s vast craft scene.
“In the booklet version this year, we’ve added paw print icons, with the help of Lancaster Unleashed, to indicate locations that are pet friendly. We do advise checking with each location as well for accuracy and seasonality as most are patio only for dogs,” Whitmarsh explains. “Our mobile version of the Trail Pass offers the same great deals as the paper pass, but has the added benefit of being available in a 3-day and 7-day format , besides the annual version, so people visiting WNY for just a short time can visit these locations and enjoy the same great deals.”
Beyond great craft beer, the Trail Pass also features a charitable aspect.
“We look forward to continuing giving back to our community as we always have. Support of the WNY Brewers Guild as well as fundraising efforts, with the help of the Bills Mafia Babes, will continue to be a focus for us,” Whitmarsh says. “Our main focus is on organizations that promote Autism Awareness and Acceptance as well as many other local organizations.”
