The Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum has its first Rails & Ales Train Ride of the season on May 20 from 12-3:30p.m. This 21+ event includes complimentary tastings from more than a dozen local craft breweries.
Trains will depart every half hour from the historic 1909 Erie Railroad train station and will take visitors on a leisurely ride through the bucolic museum grounds. The museum welcomes thousands of guests every year to tour the largest collection of historic trains in New York State, explore indoor and outdoor exhibits, and enjoy a mile-and-a-half round-trip ride on a vintage diesel train that connects the two parts of the museum.
The train will take visitors to tasting stations on both ends of the museum. Trains depart every 30 minutes and ticket holders can ride as many times as they like. Over a dozen craft breweries from the greater Rochester area will be in attendance including Nine Spot Brewing, Rebel Sailor Brewing, Stoneyard Brewing, Sager Beer Works, Copper Leaf Brewing, Faircraft Brauhaus, West Shore Brewing, Rusty Nickel Brewing, Bird House Brewing, Classic Taps Mobile Bar, Strange Design, Seed + Stone Cidery, Beer Pass ROC, Battle Steet Brewing and more.
Rails & Ales Train Ride tickets can be purchased online. Tickets are $32 and include admission to the museum, train rides, beer tastings, and a souvenir-tasting glass. Designated Driver tickets are available for $10. The event is expected to sell out so advanced purchase is recommended.
