Just in time for the last leg of summer, Five & 20 has canned its Orange Rhombus, the first in their Shape Shifter IPA series. The Shape Shifter series will be an evolving series of IPA variations showcasing various combinations of hops, including hops grown here in New York.
The 16oz. can will feature, you guessed it, an Orange Rhombus graphic on a black background, making future renditions easy to spot. You can pick up a 4-pack at the brewery in Westfield, NY for $14, and look for distribution in the Western New York and Erie areas.
The Shape Shifter Orange Rhombus IPA features Jarrylo and NY Cascade hops added to the boil for bittering, and NY Cascade and El Dorado added to the whirlpool for flavor and aroma. It’s dry hopped with NY Centennial and Amarillo.
This IPA has a bright yellow color. Peach, pineapple, and mango aromas lead to a slightly resinous and herbaceous bitterness. Notes of grapefruit, peach, and candied orange peel linger on the palate, and finishes moderately bitter, with a refreshing effervescence.
Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing is open 7 days a week with an expansive patio that has plenty of space for social distancing. Visit them at 8398 West Main Rd., Westfield, NY, 14787, or online at www.fiveand20.com.
