After a successful partnership with Buffalo Bills long snapper Reid Ferguson (Mr. Nice NEIPA was one of the best beers I’ve had at the brewery), First Line Brewing have teamed up with another Bills special teams star, kicker Tyler Bass, on Kickin’ Bass Session IPA, a 5.2% IPA brewed with all Citra hops.

The beer will be released on December 22 at the brewery and then wherever great beer is sold soon after.

The relationship between Bass and the Orchard Park brewery dates back to the fall when the Bills’ scoring leader first visited the brewery. After some discussions, which revealed Bass’ love for Citra hops, Kickin’ Bass was born.

“Tyler came into First Line in the fall,” Head Brewer Shane Stewart says. “We met each other and he said how he loved the place and would love to do a beer together. So, I hit him up about two months ago and we started brainstorming. He said his favorite beers are ones with Citra hops, so we created a session IPA.”

A portion of proceeds will go towards P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer, which provides Western New York families facing pediatric cancer with financial, practical and emotional support. Stewart says that Bass is passionate about P.U.N.T., so it was an easy decision to use the beer to give back. For every 4-pack sold, First Line will donate $2, which Bass will match with an additional $2 per 4-pack.

Kickin’ Bass will be available beginning at 4pm December 22. The beer will be available in cans and on draft. The first 18 customers that purchase a 4-pack will receive a signed can from Bass (limit one signed four pack per customer).
