Ellicottville Brewing Company and Platter’s Chocolate Factory are back at it with Affogato Dessert Ale, brewed with Platter’s espresso coffee beans, vanilla, caramel, lactose, and Belgium malt to resemble Platter’s Chocolate Factory’s Affagoto – a scoop of vanilla ice cream “drowned” in a shot of hot espresso.
To celebrate their partnership, EBC will be holding a tasting event on October 18 at Fattey Beer Company in the Wurlitzer building (North Tonawanda), where they will be offering samples of the new brew as well as chocolate to pair with it. The event will be free to attend.
Platter’s Chocolate Factory, most known to Buffalonians for their creamy and delicious orange chocolate, has become known for so much more. From featured custards of the week like French Toast and Black Raspberry to elaborate assortments of delicious chocolates and specialty coffees, there’s no busier place during the holidays.
At EBC, the opportunity to craft such unique styles of craft beer with Platter’s, a family owned and operated business, to work with them on potential flavor profiles, styles, and events has reminded them what the city of Buffalo is all about – The City of Good Neighbors.
Affogato Dessert Ale is available now on draft at the brewery and in cans wherever great craft beer is sold. For an all-inclusive experience, consider a tour of Platter’s Chocolate Factory in the historic Wurlitzer building.
