The Clarence Hollow Association will host its 2nd Annual Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl and Bob Lenz Memorial 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 2, bringing together residents and visitors for an afternoon of fitness and community celebration in Clarence Hollow.

The event begins with the Bob Lenz Memorial 5K Run/Walk at 4 p.m. at the Clarence Farmers Market. The course follows the Clarence-Akron Pathway in an out-and-back route, starting and finishing at the market. The race is open to participants of all ages and abilities and honors Bob Lenz, a founding member of the Clarence Hollow Association.

Registered 5K participants will receive a complimentary Bar Crawl Passport redeemable for food and drink specials at participating bars.

“Bob Lenz was a kind and dedicated member of the Clarence Hollow community, and I feel lucky to have known him. He was a true champion for the local community and had a way of welcoming everyone that made you feel like you belonged. He left a lasting impression on the Board and all who met him. As we come together for the second run on Saturday, May 2, I hope you’ll join us in honoring Bob’s legacy. This 5K is a meaningful way to celebrate his life while also supporting the Hollow community that meant so much to him and continues to thrive because of people like Bob,” Scott Irish-Bronkie, treasurer of Clarence Hollow Association, said.

Following the race, participants are invited to join the Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl with themed food, drink specials, and entertainment throughout the evening. Participating locations include Shalooby Loofer Brewing, Morluski’s, This Little Pig, The Hollow Bistro and Brew, and Humbert House.

Bar Crawl Passports will be available for purchase on Saturday, May 2 at Shalooby Loofer Brewing for those not participating in the 5K.

“I’m really looking forward to the Cinco de Mayo Hollow Bar Crawl after the 5K. It’s going to be a fun night in the Hollow. All the participating bars and restaurants are doing their own festive food and drink specials, so it’s a great way to get out, visit each spot, and celebrate together. At Humbert House, we’re doing free chips and salsa with any bar purchase, plus $10 Teremana cocktails and $5 Teremana shots. We’re proud to be part of something that supports local businesses and brings the Hollow community together,” Sal LaTorre, owner, The Humbert House, said.

Proceeds from both events benefit the Clarence Hollow Association and its ongoing initiatives, including
community events, beautification projects, and local business support.
