Inaugural Weirdly Wonderful Beer Festival Postponed

Thin Man’s inaugural Weirdly Wonderful Beer Festival, which was set to take place July 22 at Front Park, has been postponed due to ‘unforeseen circumstances.’  The event was to feature more than 60 breweries from all over the globe, including Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen, Aslin, 450 North, Bellwoods, Carton, Seven Island Brewery, Sloop Brewing, Allagash, 3 Sons Brewing, Dancing Gnome, and more. The brewery says they are working to ensure a new date for the fest. If you purchased a ticket, they are honoring refunds. IPA Beer Talk with Karl Kolbe at Pressure Drop Brewing

On July 15 (3-5pm), you can spend an afternoon with Pressure Drop Brewing head brewer Karl Kolbe as he guides a small group (seats limited to 20) through six different hop-forward beers, going over the brewing process, ingredients, branding, and more. Beer includes Mosaic Screamer Mosaic Hopped Cream Ale, Lavender Polo IPA, Auto-Flower Hazy IPA, Sticky Trees West Coast IPA, Sticky Icky Hazy IPA and Space Monkey Ep. 8: The Last Space Monkey IPA. If you can’t wait until the beer talk with Karl to get your hands on the latest Space Monkey, Space Monkey Ep. 8: The Last Space Monkey IPA will be released on July 8 in cans and on draft at the brewery. The beer classic West Coast dank and skunk notes in a clean and crisp IPA.

Hofbrauhaus to Tap Pilsner

On July 6, Hofbrauhaus Buffalo will hold a keg tapping of their Pilsner beer with special celebrity keg tappers Jim and Mary Ann Sandoro of The Buffalo Transpiration Pierce Arrow Museum, who will be chatting the Thomas Flyer, which will be on display at the museum until August 6. There will be a ceremonial parade, followed by the tapping of the keg at 6pm. This Pilsner-style beer is crisp with a fine floral hoppy flavor. Die Haus Band will also perform at 6pm. The Eli Fish Brewing Carnival Is Coming to Town

Eli Fish is once again taking over Batavia’s Jackson Square for the 2023 Eli Fish Carnival on July 8 (4pm). The event will feature plenty of Eli Fish beer, a trio of new seltzers (Bomb Pop, Blue Hawaiian, Red Gatorade), craft vendors, dunk tank, carnival food and drinks, Knoggle, cornhole, live music from Jim E. Leggs Trio (4pm) and The Real News (7pm) and more. Tickets are $8 online or $10 at the door and include 10 game tickets. You can purchase yours here.

Beer Kind Brewing Launches New Indiegogo Campaign

Beer Kind Brewing, a new brewery-in-planning in the Town of Tonawanda, has launched a new Indiegogo campaign with a goal of $15,000. Money raised will go towards furnishing the taproom with tables, games, TVs, and communal-style seating. Rewards include stickers, koozies, pint glasses, shirts, tickets to their soft opening, a chance to be Brewmaster for Day, lifetime Pour Club membership and more. The brewery will operate with a 5-barrel brewing system, a self-pour tap wall including craft beer, seltzers, New York State wine, liquor, cider, non-alcoholic beverages, and a light snack menu to start. They are targeting a fall opening.

10th Annual Bricks & Brews at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House

Enjoy craft brews, food trucks, and live music on the grounds of the Martin House estate at the 10th annual Bricks & Brews, which returns on July 7 (6pm). The event will feature beer sampling from 25 Western New York breweries and cideries, live music from PA Line, and food from Coyote Café and KT Caribbean Cuisine food trucks. Proceeds from the event will go to support tours and programs at the Martin House. You can purchase tickets ($70 for non-members / $60 for members) at http://martinhouse.org. This is a rain or shine event.
