Thin Man to Take Precaution with New Imperial Stout Perfect for the Season

Thin Man Brewery will release Take Precaution, an 11% Imperial Stout perfect for the impending winter season, on November 10. Take Precaution features tons of dark malt character with notes of roasted coffee, honey, jaggery sugar, chicory and dark fruit (roasted plum) with a balanced finish. “You know how IPAs brag about how many pounds of hops they use per barrel?” Thin Man’s Rudy Watkins says. “This has a pound of grain per can. That’s just dumb. Hilarious and inefficient. But sometimes hilarious inefficiency is what you need.” Take Precaution will be available on draft and in 4-packs 16oz. cans.

New Double IPA and Coffee Porter On Tap at 42 North

42 North Brewing are releasing a new Double IPA dubbed Dragonship this week (November 7) and are sending their all-NY-ingredient NYtro Coffee Porter to retail on November 9. Dragonship DIPA is brewed with Norwegian Voss yeast and triple dry-hopped with Zythos, El Dorado, and Amarillo to deliver huge tropical fruit flavors and heavy haze. NYtro Coffee Porter is brewed using malt from NY Craft Malt in Batavia, hops from Crooked Creek Hops in Addison and coffee from Elm Street Bakery in East Aurora. Dragonship will hit retail accounts November 12 and NYtro Coffee Porter is currently available at the brewery.

Enjoy Your Favorite Breakfast Cereal in a Glass at Riverworks Brewing

Riverworks Brewing are putting their neighbors, General Mills, to work and have transformed the popular breakfast cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch into a beer with Imperial Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ale, which features heaping loads of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and a little lactose, which was then aged on vanilla beans. This high alcohol, full-bodied copper colored ale clocks in at 8.2% and was brewed with 35 pounds of cereal in the mash and boiled with cinnamon and lactose for a creamy and spicy winter seasonal. Imperial Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ale is on tap right now at Buffalo Riverworks. Limited quantities are available.

Southern Tier to Release Last Beer of Science is the Art Collection

Paradox of the Powerful, the final installment of Southern Tier Brewing’s Science is the Art Unfiltered Double IPA Series, will be released at the Empty Pint in Lakewood on November 8 (6pm). The beer features whole cone Mosaic hops and Citra and Simcoe hop dust to produce juicy tropical flavors and aromas and notes of grapefruit and berries. You can also enter to win limited edition autographed art prints and meet the artist behind Southern Tier’s Science is the Art Collection, Christopher Balaskas, the creator of can artwork for the series, at Southern Tier Brewing’s Empty Pint on November 8.
