Hamburg Brewing Drops New Summer Lager

Hamburg Brewing is getting ready for summer with the release of their new Summer Lager and Orchard Apricot cider. Summer Lager is a 4.2% light, crisp and refreshing American lager with a hint of lime, or, as the brewery puts it, a ‘kiss of lime.’ “Whether you’re grilling up burgers with friends or simply kicking back with a good book, this lager is here to elevate your summer vibe. So crack open a cold one and take a sip,” the brewery says. You can find Summer Lager on tap and in 12oz. 6-pack cans at Hamburg’s taproom right now, along with Orchard Apricot cider.

Resurgence, OnCore Golf, PGA Hope WNY Collab Returns

Resurgence Brewing has once again teamed up with OnCore Golf and PGA Hope WNY on Smash Factor, a light, easy drinking and sessionable 5.5% IPA. The beer returns to Resurgence on April 12 (12pm) and the release party will feature putting and chipping games, giveaways (earn tickets with each beer purchased) and more. $1 from every pint and $2 from every 4-pack of Smash Factor sold will go towards WNY PGA Hope, a golf charity for veterans. Smash Factor will be available on draft and 4-pack cans this golfing season. The Masters will be shown in the taproom during the event as well. The release party is free and open to the public.

Sour Power Returns to Pizza Plant Transit

Pizza Plant’s celebration of all things sour beer, Sour Power, returns to their Transit Road location on April 13 (12pm). The event will feature dozens of sour beers on draft and in bottles and cans, including Pod City Beer Labs Fruit Labs: Apricot Gooseberry, Mortalis Hydra: Sangria, Cantillon Kriek (2024), Cascade Sang Royal (2017), Fantome Saison (2020), Thin Man Brewery Minkey Starburst, Strangebird Rode Vogel (2024), Allagash Heart of Heart (2024) and more. There will be flight specials, 20% off all sour bottles and Tums antacids to all those that may need them. Sour Power is free and open to the public.

CBW, Thin Man, Smoldered Society Tap Takeover at The Caz

In honor of New York State Craft Beer Day, Community Beer Works, Smoldered Society and Thin Man Brewery are taking over the taps at The Caz on April 11 (6:30pm). DJ Cochise will spin a mix of funk, rock, 90s rap, and 2000s dance hits, while Community Beer Works (Let’s Go Pils, The Whale, That IPA, Thirst Aid Kit Summer Ale, Pineapple Princess), Thin Man (Bliss DIPA, Super Freak IPA) and Smoldered Society (Strike Anywhere Pilsner, Simulated Reality) take over the taps. Tickets are $5 (VIP tickets are $20 – exclusive mezzanine access, 2 drink tickets) and can be purchased here. The Caz is a cashless venue.

April 11 Designated as Inaugural New York Craft Beer Day

Gov. Kathy Hochul has officially declared April 11 as New York Craft Beer Day, a day to celebrate and honor New York’s more than 500 independent craft breweries who support 22,000 jobs and generate a $4.8 billion economic impact. It is the perfect opportunity to head to your local brewery or visit a new spot on your bucket list and grab a pint and food and take home some beer. “From this year forward, April 11th will be New York Craft Beer Day, we are honored that the governor created the proclamation in support of the industry,” New York State Brewers Association Executive Director Paul Leone said. Innovation Thursdays Return to Big Ditch, New Bar Bill Beer

Big Ditch Brewing has brought back Innovation Thursdays, which features the release of a brand new beer and wing flavor the first Thursday of every month at their Buffalo tap room. As a bonus, every Thursday from 3-6pm the brewery offers Happy Hour deals – $5 drafts and $10 appetizers. Stay tuned to their social media channels for Innovation Thursdays announcements. In April, Big Ditch released Molten Cheeto Maddness wings and Wai-iti IPA.

The brewery has also partnered with Bar Bill Clarence on Bar-Bill Secret Sauce IPA, a 6% crushable hazy IPA that was brewed to pair with wings. The beer is available on draft right now at Bar Bills’ location at 8326 Main Street in Clarence.
