Big Ditch Brewing, Duff’s Collab, Double Holiday Weekend Can Release

It’s no small secret that few things go better together than beer and chicken wings. Big Ditch Brewing and Duff’s Famous Wings have teamed up on Duffalo Blonde Ale, a 4.8% lightly hopped and creamy blonde ale, is available on draft and in cans exclusively at each of Duff’s 5 WNY locations. The beer is crafted to be the perfect companion for a plate of hot and spicy chicken wings.

Big Ditch is dropping a pair of IPAs in cans in time for Memorial Day Weekend – the returning Pineapple Burner and new Pay Per View Hazy IPA – on May 26. Pineapple Burner is Hayburner IPA brewed with fresh tropical pineapples, and Pay Per View is brewed with Cryo Mosaic and Strata hops, for notes of papaya, honeydew, and mandarin orange, medium body and a smooth finish. Both will be available on draft and in 16oz. 4-pack cans. The brewery will also release Party Mountain IPA, a new collaboration with Community Beer Works that features tropical hops, notes of pine and citrus, on June 2.

Tickets on Sale for Rhythm & Brews Benefit at Kleinhans

Tickets are on sale for Rhythm & Brews at Kleinhans Music Hall on June 16. The event will feature beer from 12 local breweries, such as Pressure Drop, Flying Bison and Resurgence Brewing, food from Oliver’s, Marcato by SEAR, Britesmith and Creekview Restaurant and live music by My Cousin Tone’ and The John Bacon Quintet. Proceeds will benefit Kleinhans’s programming, including the annual National Geographic Live Speakers Series and building upkeep. Everyone will receive a commemorative glass. Fattey Beer to Open New Locations in Lancaster and Amherst

Fattey Beer has announced plans to open their eighth and ninth locations this summer in Lancaster at 1 W. Main St., at the corner of Central Avenue, and Amherst, at 1260 Sweet Home Rd. In Lancaster, Fattey Beer will open up shop in former home of Village Toy Shoppe and the Lancaster Coffee Co., while in Amherst, they will move into a building that also houses John Shaflucas Architects, where plans call for opening a bottle shop with an outdoor patio. Fattey Beer Lancaster is expected to open in June, while Fattey Beer Amherst is expected to open by the end of summer.

One Year Anniversary Party at One-Eyed Cat Brewing

Williamsville’s One-Eyed Cat Brewing is celebrating one year in business on May 27 (12pm) with a full day of beer, live music, food, and more. There will be music from Jon Lehning Trio (12:30-2:30pm), Dave Miller (3-5pm), Meet The Bacons (5:30-8pm) and Tim Britt Band (8:30-10:30pm), a llama & alpaca meet and greet, mobile golf simulator, cider tastings by Clarksburg Cider and bourbon tastings by Iron Smoke Distilling. There will also be a number of craft vendors, including Buffawix Candle, Life Is Succulent, M&M716 Designs, Seven One Six Wood Design, TS Candles, Vessel Buffalo, and Wolf Den Strength & Fitness.

42 North Brewing Introduces Solshine Golden Lager

42 North is launching a new summer lager, Solshine Golden Lager, a helles lager inspired by the sun. It’s light, bright, and crisp at 4.5% with a hint of citrus, as Solshine is brewed with orange peel and real tangerine. Solshine will be officially unveiled at the 42 North taproom over Memorial Day weekend. The weekend’s activities include a special outdoor concert with Ten Cent Howl on Friday night and music and activities in the beer garden all weekend long. On May 29, Revolver Records will be at 42 North spinning beachy tunes 2-4pm in the Biergarten.

Eli Fish Brewing Homebrew Competition, New 19.2oz. Cans

The third annual homebrew competition at Eli Fish Brewing is now open. The first 25 homebrewers to submit their proposed beer to adam@elifishbrewing.com will be entered, beers will be judged based on BJCP guidelines, and guest brewers from across WNY will be on the judging panel. The winning homebrewer will receive a $250 gift card to Eli Fish, swag bag and the chance to brew your winning beer at Eli Fish. Beer is due no later than July 15 and no earlier than July 4. Homebrewers are asked to submit a minimum 32oz. of beer.

The Batavia brewery has also released a pair of new 19.2oz. stovepipe cans – Maple Sunshine, a wheat ale brewed with blueberries and maple syrup, and Red Ribbon Lager, an easy drinking light lager brewed with one third corn. You can find these cans exclusively at Eli Fish’s taproom.
