Lafayette Brewing Company to Close at End of Year

Lafayette Brewing Company, an all-lager brewery housed inside of the Hotel Lafayette, will close its doors at the end of the year. Pearl Street general manager released a statement to WGRZ confirming the news. “The current term of our lease expires on December 31, 2023,” the statement reads in part. “We will remain open until that time. We had every intention of renewing our lease but were unable to come to terms moving forward.” Head brewer Jason Dunshie says that many of the lagers you’d find at Lafayette will continue to be produced and will be available at Pearl Street, including a new collaboration with One-Eyed Cat Brewing, a New Zealand Pale lager, and Thin Ice, a Jasmine Rice lager.

New York Beer Project Reveals NYBP Beer Lodge

New York Beer Project has announced that their upcoming new Orchard Park location with be named The New York Beer Project Lodge. Construction on the new space, a two-story, 32,000-squarefoot building to be located in the Sterling Business Park off Milestrip Road, has begun. This is New York Beer Project’s fourth space after Lockport, Victor and Orlando, Florida. They hope to be open sometime in 2024. Resurgence Brewing Debuts Special IPA Flight

Calling all IPA drinkers – this week, Resurgence Brewing is celebrating their hoppier libations with a special IPA Week flight, which features Pineapple Green Heart, their flagship hazy IPA brewed with pineapple, Head In the Clouds, an 8.4% Double IPA with notes of grapefruit and papaya, Strawberry Head In the Clouds, and West Coast DIPA. This is a preset flight and is only available at Resurgence’s Chicago Street taproom for a limited time and while supplies last.

Tickets Remain for Second Annual Tap & Craft Festival

The second annual Tap & Craft Festival, coming to the Niagara Falls Convention Center on October 21, will feature craft brews from more than 40 craft breweries, wineries and cideries from Upstate New York, live music, food and a cornhole tournament. Tickets are $30 presale ($40 day of) and include admission, commemorative tasting glass and unlimited 3-ounce beer samples. Designated Driver tickets are $10. VIP tickets are $40 and include a special 1.5 hour tasting sessions curated by Brewed & Bottled and The Magic Bear Beer Cellar, commemorative pint glass and more. 42 North Brewing to Celebrate GR8FUL 8th Anniversary

42 North Brewing is planning a full weekend of events, including live music and beer releases, to celebrate its 8th anniversary beginning Oct. 20. The celebration begins Friday night with live music from Grateful EA. The brewery will also release a new Double IPA, H8 Ashbury, along with special barrel house releases from the 42 Below Barrel House. On Saturday, the BuffaloveBus, a vintage 1972 VW van, will be on-site for photo opportunities. And, at 8pm, The Leroy Townes Band, hit the stage for their annual anniversary show. On Sunday, 42 North will show Bills-Patriots on the big screen, and will have a Fat Bob’s special game day menu and $3 12oz.can specials.

Celebrate Oktoberfest at the Buffalo Central Terminal

Oktoberfest at the Terminal, which takes place October 22, features live music, Bills watch party, petting farm, hayrides, pumpkin decorating, local food from Shish Kabob Heaven, Avenue29 Foods, KT Caribbean Cuisine and Catering by Marjorie, wine and cider from Bully Hill, Tree Hugger Hard Cider and more, and craft beer, including the launch of Buffalo Brewing Company’s Central Terminale and more. Central Terminale is a smooth and creamy pre-prohibition style amber ale with a deep garnet hue, firm bitterness and notes of toffee and dark caramel, that was brewed in honor of Oktoberfest at the Terminal. A portion of proceeds will go to support the rehabilitation of the Terminal. The event is free and open to the public.

Donovan Orchards Estate Ciders Autumn Cider Festival

On October 21 (1pm), Donovan Orchards Estate Ciders will host an Autumn Cider Festival, featuring cider from Donovan Orchards Estate, BlackBird Cider Work’s Ghost Lantern, food, craft beer and live music. Chiavetta’s will be on hand serving up BBQ chicken, pulled pork street tacos, and roasted apple cobbler over grilled cornbread, Resurgence Brewing will have their beer trailer on site and music will be provided by Dave Stoll and Goose. Donovan Orchards Estate is located at 8503 Lower Lake Road in Barker. All attendees must be over the age of 21.
