42 North Brewing Planning New $1 Million Expansion

42 North is planning a new expansion with the acquisition of a neighboring two-story building they plan to convert into four AirBnB units. The investment, which is expected to total over $1 million, involves demolishing the two-story, four-unit apartment building that overlooks Person Alley and building a new structure that will house the four Airbnb rooms, office space for 42 North Brewing, a meeting room and an expanded canning line and cooling space, which could lead to a bigger expansion in the future. According to 42 North Founder John Cimperman, the new building will be completed by late next spring.

Blackbird Cider Works Plans Opening Date for Buffalo Cider Hall

The Buffalo Cider Hall, the latest venture from Barker, NY’s Blackbird Cider Works, will officially open its doors at 155 Chandler Street on October 19 (4pm). The bar at the Cider Hall features 24 taps, half of which will be dedicated to ciders, and the rest will pour local beer, available both by the glass and in growlers. There’s also coolers that have room for a hundred or so bottles and cans, and the Cider Hall can sell hard liquor from farm distilleries. Small plates will also be available. The Buffalo Cider Hall will be open all weekend (October 19-21).

Celebrate the Season in Traditional Fashion at Thin Man’s Oktoberfest

The all-day affair will feature copious amounts of beer, traditional Oktoberfest themed food, and German music from 25-piece band German American Musicians Association Inc. Brewery Workshops at Trocaire College with Thin Man, Buffalo Brewing

Learn more about the delicious liquid we all love at a pair of upcoming workshops at Trocaire College. On October 13 (1pm), join Thin Man Head Brewer Rudy Watkins for the Seasonal Brews: Brewing With Unique Ingredients, which will cover a variety of different seasonal brews and the ingredients that make them unique. Then, on November 3 (1pm), Buffalo Brewing Company’s Owner/Head Brewer John Domres will host Brewing Eclectic IPA’s, which will cover the flavors and production of IPA varieties, as well as the use of adjuncts, such as fruit, herbs, spices, in IPAs. Cost of each workshop is $30.
