Just as summer approaches, 42 North has launched a new summer lager to compliment the longer days and warmer nights. Solshine Golden Lager is the latest beer to join 42 North’s ever-expanding seasonal line-up.
Solshine is a helles lager that is inspired by the sun (sol). Described as light, bright, and crisp, Solshine Golden Lager also has a hint of citrus as the 42 North brew team added orange peel and real tangerine to the brew kettle. The beer’s bright golden color and lower ABV (4.5%) make it a great beer for the summer’s of Western New York.
Prior to brewing Solshine, 42 North sampled a series of small batch lagers in their taproom. This recipe, and the hint of citrus flavor, was the customer favorite to be brewed in a large batch and hit the market.
“As the summer approaches, beer lovers are looking for some lighter options, while still getting full flavor. We really think Solshine hits this sweet spot” said, 42 North Founder John Cimperman.
Solshine will be officially unveiled at the 42 North taproom over Memorial Day weekend. The weekend’s activities, which officially kick off summer at 42 North, include a special outdoor concert with Ten Cent Howl on Friday night and music and activities in the beer garden all weekend long.
Solshine will be available whenever fine craft beer is sold and will be featured at outdoor music venues this summer, including Artpark.
