Western New York Craft Beer Week, a weeklong event featuring special beer releases and events, kicks off on September 25 and runs through October 5. The annual event is presented at the WNY Brewers Guild.

The annual celebration highlights the strength and growth of the region’s craft beer industry, encouraging consumers to support local breweries by visiting tasting rooms or choosing locally made beer at stores, bars, and restaurants.

“Craft beer in Western New York is alive and strong. There are many reports that the craft beer bubble is bursting – that already happened 25 years ago. Yes, there is a bit of a slowdown as markets hit certain levels of saturation, but here, we are going strong. WNY Craft Beer Week is our annual showcase for our industry and collaboration is the foundation of that industry. All the local breweries work together for the betterment of each other and the local beer drinkers in general,” WNY Brewers Guild president Rob Haag said.

The highlight of this year’s Western New York Craft Beer Week is a collaborative hazy IPA featuring all of the member breweries of the WNY Brewers Guild. The beer will be available on tap through Beer Week at Brazen Brewing, Hamburg Brewing, Britesmith Brewing (both locations), Pearl Street, Brickyard Brewing, Rusty Nickel, Spotted Octopus (both locations), Resurgence Brewing, Beer Kind Brewing, Butera’s, First Line Brewing, Johnson’s Landing, Big Ditch (both locations), Lilly Belle Meads/Til Brewing, 1927 Brew House (Santora’s), New York Beer Project (Lockport, Orchard Park), Belt Line, The Ridge West Seneca and more.

WNY Beer Week is headlined by the release of a new collaborative hazy IPA featuring all Guild member breweries. WNY Beer Week IPA, a hazy 7% New England IPA brewed with Mosaic, Nelson Cryo, Amarillo T45, Cascade and El Dorado hops, features notes of tropical fruit, citrus and stone fruit. The beer will be available on draft at all participating breweries throughout WNY Beer Week.

“This collaboration IPA will be available at all the participating WNY Brewers Guild members’ locations during Beer Week. We hope you enjoy visiting as many locations as you can that week and taste how our craft is thriving!” Haag said.
