The New York State Craft Brewers Festival will be held on Sat., June 24 at Buffalo’s Canalside from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. The renowned event brings together more than 55 breweries, offering Buffalo’s beer enthusiasts the opportunity to sample unique and award-winning beer from every region of the state. In addition, ticket holders can enjoy live music, entertainment and culinary creations from Buffalo’s favorite food trucks.
New York State Craft Brewers Festivals are the only local events served by the brewers and owners themselves, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the people creating the beer they love. The festival will feature some of the best beer in New York State, with many of the breweries recently winning awards in the New York State Craft Beer Competition, including 2023 Governor’s Cup Winner Genesee Brewery, who was awarded the best-in-show beer.
“The craft beer industry continues to rapidly grow across Western New York. Our region is now home to over 60 breweries, with more coming online every few months,” said Jason Havens, owner of Rusty Nickel Brewing Co. and president of the Western New York Brewers Guild. “Each brewery has its own story and unique experience to explore. We have quickly become a destination for beer lovers across the country and beyond. The best part – with each local beer purchased, consumers are contributing to the local economy by keeping funds right here in the WNY community.”
“Brewers and brewery owners from every region of the state come together to showcase beer of all kinds at New York State Craft Brewers Festivals. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast, or brand new to the craft beer scene, these festivals offer a unique opportunity for everyone to try something new – and find their new favorite beer,” said Chloe Kay, marketing manager for the New York State Brewers Association.
The event is produced by the New York State Brewers Association in partnership with the WNY Brewers Guild to showcase breweries local to Buffalo as well as throughout the state. Proceeds will benefit both of the organizations. In addition, $1 from every ticket will be donated to P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative, an organization that supports Western New York families enduring pediatric cancer, from diagnosis to recovery.
The New York craft brewing industry has a $5.4 billion economic impact that extends far beyond beer. The unique event will highlight the meaningful relationship between breweries and local communities and celebrate the craft culture. Buffalo’s “Porcelain Train” will take the stage to provide live music to accompany beer tastings. Ticket holders will be able to test their axe throwing skills with Hatchet & Hops, a premier axe throwing experience in Buffalo.
“We are so excited to return to Canalside for our 3rd annual NYS Craft Brewers Festival. As we continue to highlight the best of Western New York craft beer, we’ll also have great breweries from every region of the state pouring once again at this year’s event,” said Paul Leone, executive director of the New York State Brewers Association.
