As you emerge from the first weekend of the seventh annual Buffalo Beer Week, hopefully intact, or somewhat intact at least, we hope you have been enjoying yourself thus far and enjoying what the Buffalo-Niagara beer scene has to offer.
On this fourth day of Beer Week, or fifth if you joined us at Big Ditch for the shuffleboard tournament on Thursday, there is a chance for some rest due to todays pared back slate. Still, if you’re the adventurous type, there are some gems today to mine for your drinking pleasure.
Big Ditch and the Nittany Epicurean are joining forces for Vines & Bines, a five-course dinner featuring each course expertly paired with beer from Big Ditch and wine from Leonard Oakes Estate Winery. The event, 6-9pm, is limited to 50 attendees and each ticket is $80/person (plus tax and gratuity) with a portion of proceeds benefit Slow Food Buffalo Niagara, who ‘advocate for food and farming policies that are good for the public, good for the planet, and good for farmers and workers; to help consumers find fresh, healthy food at a reasonable price; to educate young people about the value of food.’ You can view the full pairing menu and purchase your tickets here.
World of Beer will be tapping a keg of Resurgence Brewing’s recently resurrected Vanilla Cappuccino Pumpkin Ale, Woodcock Brothers will be sampling their beery wares at Premier Gourmet (5-7pm) and Rusty Nickel will have DJ Trivia at the brewery from 7-9pm.
And don’t forget that Buffalo’s newest watering hole, Buffalo Brewing Company, is open each and every day of beer week. Today they are open from 5-8pm and will have 5 beers for you to try – 1804 American Pale Ale, 1813 Porter, 1842 Vienna Lager, 1825 I.P.A. and 2016 Celebration Ale. Check them out at 314 Myrtle Avenue
