Pressure Drop, Big Ditch Brew Up Biggest IPA Ever Released in WNY
After gracing us with Aqua Buddha Double IPA, Pressure Drop Brewing and Big Ditch Brewing have again teamed up, this time producing Aqua Jesus Triple IPA, the biggest Triple IPA ever released in Western New York coming in at 11.9%. Aqua Jesus clocks in at 107 IBU and is brewed with Citra, Mosaic and Calypso hops. This heavy hitter will be released on August 31 (12pm) on Pressure Drop’s loading dock fresh off the canning line, minutes after the beer was canned to ensure maximum freshness. 4-pack 16oz. cans will cost $15.99 (plus tax and deposit). 200 cases available, no limits.
Big Ditch Brewing Hits a Bullseye with New Lock IPA Series Release
Big Ditch’s Lock IPA Series is growing by one with the release of Dart, the seventh entry into the series. The beer will be released, along with a fresh batch of Citraburner cans, on August 30 (11am). Dart is named for Joseph Dart, who, along with his business partner Robert Dunbar, were credited with building “Dart’s Elevator,” the world’s first grain elevator. Dart is brewed with Vic Secret, Mosaic, and Citra hops. Malted, flaked oats make this beer creamy while the hops add pineapple and passionfruit flavors. All beer will be available in 16oz. can 4-packs for $14.99 (no limits).
Buffalo Brewing to Drop New 1906 New England IPA, 1980 Loganberry Ale in Cans
Buffalo Brewing Company aren’t wasting much time getting more of their beer into cans with plans to release cans of their new 1906 New England IPA and 1890 Loganberry Ale this Saturday (1pm). 1906 NEIPA features Ekuanot and El Dorado hops built upon a framework of Golden Promise, White Wheat, oats and crystal. Look for huge hop flavors balanced out by a smooth malt profile. $16 per 4-pack. 1890 Loganberry Ale features massive loganberry flavor and a beautiful dark pink color with a touch of sweetness. Only six cases of this beer available with more to come. $12 per 4-pack.
Southern Tier’s The Empty Pint Celebrates Sweet Sixteen Anniversary Party
Southern Tier Brewing’s resident brewpub, Lakewood’s The Empty Pint, is throwing a Sweet Sixteen Party in honor of their sixteenth anniversary on August 31 (12pm). In honor of the special occasion, The Empty Pint will be tapping a special No-Bake Hazy IPA from Southern Tier to go along with live music from 2-5pm with Qwister, $5 pints all day, giveaways, food and anniversary cake. Southern Tier has also recently rolled out a new rose ale, Muse Rose Ale. This rose ale is crisp and refreshing, brewed with white grapes and hints of raspberry. Look for Muse Rose in 6-pack cans.
Buffalo Beer Goddesses’ Annual Tour de Cask Fundraiser Returns to Flying Bison
The Buffalo Beer Goddesses are bringing the fourth annual Tour de Cask, a fundraising event for their Cicerone Scholarship Fund for WNY Women, to Flying Bison Brewing on September 1 (1pm). A number of casks will be available, including 12 Gates Brewing Margarita Sour (sour ale aged on tequila oak with lime puree), 42 North Brewing Gingerism English Braggot with Autumn Harvest Honey and Gingersnaps, Big Ditch Brewing Vanilla Almond Mocha Make Me Wanna Stout and more. Tickets ($30) available at Eventbrite. Each attendee will receive a token for one half pint of beer from each cask. Food is included.
