Big Ditch Brewing has announced that they have completed most, if not all, of the construction work on their Lockport taproom, located at the Historic Post Office (1 East Avenue). The brewery hoped to open the new space last year.

The brewery says that all front of house construction, including flooring, has been completed and all bars, draft towers, brewing and kitchen equipment has been installed and is operation.

“The space is absolutely stunning – the pictures don’t completely do it justice,” the brewery says. “The detail that the Iskalo Development team has put into the development process and preservation of the Historic Post Office has been nothing short of amazing. As we’ve said, this kind of work takes a long time to do the right way, but we always knew it would be worth the wait. We hope you agree.”

They say that next they need to put in barstools, install televisions and speakers, bring in ingredients and train staff, which they add will take the longest to do.

“The training will take a little while – we want to make sure we’re ready for you, Lockport. We know that service is the most important part of what we do in our tap rooms,” the brewery says. “So – unfortunately – we still don’t have an opening date. But believe us – it’s really, really close.”

“It’s the question everyone is asking – when is the new Lockport tap room going to be open?” the brewery says.  “While we initially projected opening in 2024, if it isn’t obvious already, we just can’t make that happen. That’s not for lack of trying – we’ve been working really hard to make the opening happen as soon as possible. The good news is – it is getting very close.”

A grand opening date is forthcoming. Big Ditch is planning to have 4 exclusive beers on tap at the opening.
