Established in 2011 at 56 S. Union Street and formerly under the shadow of the Inner Loop, Roc Brewing Co. is ramping up for a celebration of its 10th anniversary in the Rochester craft brewing community this Saturday, June 12, from noon to 10 p.m.

“It’s amazing to see how much has changed in the last 10 years – here at Roc Brewing, and in the craft beer community around the greater Rochester area,” says brewery owner and co-founder, Chris Spinelli. “We are so excited to have expanded our space, and now have the ability to offer a full menu by F.L.X. Wienery that compliments our beers on tap. Plus, all of the growth in Rochester’s brewing community in these last 10 years has been absolutely incredible.”

In just the last few years, the arrival of new apartment complexes and the expansion of the Strong Museum of Play’s Neighborhood of Play have completely transformed the area surrounding Roc Brewing.

The brewery has spent quite some time preparing a special beer for the occasion – Tsar Wars: a Russian Imperial Stout, barrel-aged for 14 months in Bowman bourbon barrels. This brew is dark and opaque in color and boasts rich notes of chocolate, burnt sugar and dried fruit. Extremely limited quantities of Tsar Wars will be available by the bottle during Saturday’s festivities, along with beers on tap by Roc Brewing and two other long-standing Rochester breweries, Naked Dove Brewing and Three Heads Brewing.

“Roc Plates” will be on the menu, in addition to the full menu by F.L.X. Wienery at Roc.

Craft beer lovers are encouraged to visit Roc Brewing Co. on Saturday to “cheers to 10 years.”
