Big Ditch Brewing Company is proud to announce its partnership with the YMCA Buffalo Niagara for the fourth consecutive year to release Turkey Trotter, a beer brewed specifically to celebrate the Buffalo Turkey Trot.
“We are honored to collaborate with the YMCA for the fourth year in a row on the official craft beer of the YMCA Turkey Trot,” said Matt Kahn, president and co-founder of Big Ditch Brewing Company.
Turkey Trotter, described as a ‘perfect finish-line beer,’ is a refreshing blonde ale featuring crackery malt flavors and light fruity hops.
“The beer is tasting great this year, but the best part of this partnership is that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this beer will be donated to YMCA Buffalo Niagara, helping to support their mission of strengthening the WNY
community,” added Kahn.
Now celebrating its 130th start, the YMCA Turkey Trot is the world’s oldest consecutively run footrace and has been a Buffalo tradition since 1896.
“We’re incredibly thankful for Big Ditch Brewing Company’s tribute celebrating this year’s Turkey Trot,” John Ehrbar, YMCA Buffalo Niagara president and CEO said. “Their support empowers the YMCA to offer vital resources throughout our community.”
The Turkey Trot takes place annually on Thanksgiving morning, drawing up to 14,000 runners. The 4.97-mile race begins on Delaware Avenue in North Buffalo and concludes near the Buffalo Convention Center, where the post-race party is almost as anticipated as the race itself. Turkey Trotter will be available at the post-race celebration as well.
Turkey Trotter is available on draft and in 6-packs of 12oz. cans at Big Ditch’s taproom at 55 East Huron St. in downtown Buffalo. The beer will also be available at craft beer retailers and supermarkets across Western New York, including Tops, Wegmans, Dash’s, Consumer’s Beverages, and more, within the coming week.
Registration for the YMCA Buffalo Turkey Trot is open online at www.ymcaturkeytrot.org. Additionally, Turkey Trotter cans will feature a QR code that allows consumers to easily register for the race.
