Shalooby Loofer Brewing is set to become Local Hollow Brewery. Owner Eon Verrall has made the decision to sell the brewery after they celebrate their third anniversary in August, in order to focus more on family and other professional obligations.

“It is with mixed emotions that I share that Shalooby Loofer will celebrate its third—and final—anniversary on August 8, 2026. After a great deal of reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to sell the brewery so I can focus more on my family and other professional obligations,” Verrall said in a post on social media.

Local Hollow will be led by Hilary Dollinger. Moving forward, though the brewery is changing hands and rebranding under a different name, Verrall says that customers can expect the “same great beer from the same great brewer.” The brewery and taproom is located in a converted 3-car garage equipped with a Ruby Pro 1 BBL Electric Brew House.

“The good news is that the brewery’s next chapter is in great hands,” Verrall said. “The new owners are local, passionate, and committed to continuing what we’ve built together. Later this summer or early fall, Shalooby Loofer will become Local Hollow Brewing, led by Hilary Dollinger. You can expect the same great beer brewed by the same talented brewer and served by the familiar bartenders you’ve come to know and appreciate.”

Over the course of these past three years, Shalooby Loofer has championed the mantra of “craft beer for a good cause.” The brewery has donated a portion of their proceeds to charity with $1 of each pint sold in the tasting room going to benefit buildOn, which will help to support building a school in Nepal. A goal that Verrall says they achieved.

“The past three years have been an incredible journey, and I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your support. Together, we truly lived our motto, “Drink it Forward.” Thanks to your generosity, we achieved our goal of helping build a school in Nepal and supported numerous local charities, making a meaningful impact both around the world and here in our own community,” Verrall said.

And if you’re reading this, which I hope you are, you’re more than likely wondering about the genesis of the brewery name? That comes from the nicknames of owner/brewer Eon Verrall’s daughters, Madison (Shalooby) and Maggie (Loofer). Verrall says that he initially was looking to open something on a much, much smaller scale, but decided to ‘go big or go home.’

“What started as a simple three-car garage became something far greater—a magical gathering place filled with friendship, laughter, and unforgettable memories. That is because of you. I couldn’t be more grateful, and I’m confident that this special place will continue to thrive under Hilary’s leadership,” Verrall said.

Shalooby Loofer will celebrate its third anniversary and will say goodbye on August 8.

From toasting pints at the taproom in Clarence Hollow to drinking their beer at countless events (my podcast partner Scott Panfil was part of Team Shalooby Loofer for CollaBEERation a few years back), thanks for the memories Shalooby Loofer. Eon, we’ll see you on down the road – thanks for the beer these past three years. We wish you nothing but the best.
