The local brewery known for its fun fruited gose releases is set to release another this weekend just in time for the holidays. 42 North’s ‘Never Gose Bad’ recreates everyone’s not-so-favorite holiday dessert gift, the fruit cake, and features apricot, cherry, cranberry, black currant, and pineapple.

The second release is the next Pre-Emption hazy IPA with ‘Distant Drum’ DIPA. Both will be available starting December 12 at noon at the 42GO Drive-Thru and everywhere else starting next week.

Head Brewer Matt Matuszewski says, “After pulling a fruit cake from the back of the basement refrigerator from last Christmas, we realized fruit cake fruits would taste really damn good in our gose base.”

Never Gose Bad uses a ton of the same fruit used in the legendary dessert, in addition to being lightly spiced with a
blend of allspice, clove, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla. The beer is also made with a special yeast that gives a hint of cognac and dark rum and comes in at 5.75% ABV.

‘Distant Drum’ DIPA is highlighted by notes of citrus, lemon/lime and tropical fruit from a massive hop-combo addition of Styrian Cardinal, Citra, Wai-iti. The beer is inspired by the mysterious ‘boom’ sound that randomly radiates from Seneca Lake in Central New York and comes in at a 8.5% ABV.

Both releases can be pre-order starting this week at theoutpost42n.com for pick-up at 42 North starting December 12th. Learn more at 42northbrewing.com.
