Brickyard Brewing Drops New Blended Barrel Aged Beer

Brickyard Brewing has added a new beer to their barrel aged lineup, Maelstrom, a 11.7% rich and warming blend of barrel aged ales that features notes of toffee, dark chocolate, candied dates and bourbon. Maelstrom is a small batch release and 500ml bottles are available at the brewery while supplies last.

Brewer’s Invitational Returns to NYBP Beer Lodge

The seventh annual Brewer’s Invitational will take place at the NYBP Beer Lodge in Orchard Park on Feb. 28, 2026 (2-5 pm). We are entering peak beer event season with a handful of can’t-miss events coming up, which means now is a great time to get out of the house, drink something new and exciting and raise a toast to the Western New York craft scene.

Drink some great craft, listen to live music, eat tasty local food and meet some new friends at these upcoming events. No two events are the same, so make sure you go to a few of them to experience everything they have to offer.

Barrel Jam VI, 42 North Brewing (25 Pine St., East Aurora)

Jan. 24

Pro tip: If you’re going to go to Barrel Jam, opt for VIP. Not only do you get early access before most everyone else, you get your pick of the litter in terms of beer. Another tip? Start inside the 42 Below Barrel House – it tends to fill up quickly in there, especially once general admission begins and they normally have a number of great 42 North beers and some craft spirits as well.

Buffalo On Tap, Buffalo Convention Center (153 Franklin St., Buffalo)

Feb. 7

Pro tip: Once again, I recommend opting for VIP. Buffalo On Tap has a special VIP section with a different beers (and its normally a pretty solid lineup), but beyond the beer, the VIP section offers additional space and table to relax and escape a bit when the event gets busy.

Kenan Wine & Beer Bash, Kenan Center Arena (195 Beattie Ave, Lockport)

Feb. 21

The 2026 Kenan Wine & Beer Bash is coming to the Kenan Center Arena on Feb. 21 (4-7 pm). The event will feature samplings from local craft breweries, wineries, distilleries, cideries and restaurants, along with live music from The Uptown Groove, food and more. This year’s event is being held in partnership with the Tap & Craft Festival, with a wine garden presented by The Lock Tender. General admission tickets are $45 and VIP is $65, and includes premier parking, an extra hour of tasting, exclusive wine and beer samples, free Blaster Ball and more. You can purchase tickets here.

42 North Brewski, Knox Farm State Park (437 Buffalo Rd., East Aurora)

Feb. 21

42 North will host the 2026 Brewski on Feb. 21 at Knox Farm State Park. Participants will traverse a two-mile course while sampling some of 42 North’s latest craft creations along the way. You will receive five beer samples, a complimentary beer at the brewery, and a commemorative tasting mug. Additionally, Brewski will feature a number of regional vendors offering demo equipment. Following the event, 42 North will host a post-party (4-7pm) with live music by The Blue Faces. A portion of ticket proceeds benefit The Friends of Knox Farm State Park for their continued maintainance and improvements to the park. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at 42 North or online.

Pro tip: This one is easy – if you want to go to Brewski, buy your tickets soon, like right now because this event sells out every year. And make sure you check the forecast and dress accordingly.

Brewer’s Invitational, NYBP Beer Lodge (245 Windward Rd., Orchard Park)

Feb. 28

Pro tip: Plan accordingly. Check out the beer list beforehand and make a plan. I know that’s sounds more like something to do before a vacation and not a beer event, but still. There is normally a lot of beer at this event, so make sure you make a list of what you want ahead of time.

The Art of Beer, Niagara Arts & Cultural Center (1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls)

March 6

The 2026 Art of Beer will return to the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center on March 6. The 18th annual event will feature beer, wine, and cider tastings, along with culinary pairings, live entertainment on multiple stages, and more. Tickets include a commemorative beer glass, all beer, wine, and cider samplings, food, and more. The Art of Beer also serves as a fundraiser to support the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center. Pro tip: Do not forget to eat. I myself have been guilty of this many, many times in the past at events and I always regret it. This is an event where you cannot afford to not eat. That made sense, right? The restaurant lineup at Art of Beer is normally stellar, so don’t miss out.

CollaBEERation, The Powerhouse (140 Lee St., Buffalo)

Apr. 25

The sixth annual CollaBEERation Festival will take place at the Powerhouse on Saturday, Apr. 25. The unique event brings together members of the Buffalo Beer Geeks community to partner with more than 50+ participating Western New York breweries, cideries, and meaderies to brew never-before-made libations. There will also be craft vendors, food trucks, and more. Attendees can vote on their top 3 collabs, with the winners taking home the Buffalo Beer Geek Championship Belt. General admission tickets ($70, including unlimited pours and a commemorative glass) can be purchased here. A limited number of VIP tickets ($90) is also still available.

Pro tip: Not to sound like a broken record, but have a plan going in. There is so much incredible beer at this event, many you might not be able to find anywhere else and even more you don’t want to miss out on. Make a list. It may sound dumb for a beer event, but it’s important. Also, make sure to get to the event on time if you’re driving because the parking lot at the Powerhouse fills up quickly. Or grab an Uber or a Lyft. That’s probably the better option.

New York State Craft Brewers Fest, Canalside (44 Prime St, Buffalo)

June 13

The New York State Craft Brewers Festival: Buffalo returns to Canalside on June 13. The New York State Brewers Association and Western New York Brewers Guild produce the annual event. This year, the event will feature fresh craft beer from over 50 breweries from every corner of the state. Attendees can meet the people who make the beer they love while enjoying live music, local food trucks, artisan vendors, and more. You can find more information here.

Pro tip: My pro tips for this event are pretty straight forward – buy VIP to beat the rush and make sure you drink enough water. Simple, effective and important.

Froth Brewing Taproom To Close Feb. 1

Froth Brewing will close their taproom on Feb. 1. A selection of their beer will be contract brewed and available at select retailers moving forward. “With full hearts and endless gratitude, we want to share just how thankful we are for every person who has been part of Froth over the last 7 incredible years. What began as a small dream grew into something so much bigger, a place filled with laughter, friendship, and community,” Froth said. Gift cards must be redeemed before closure. Froth Brewing opened at 700 Military Road in Buffalo in 2019. “To our guests, neighbors, and friends, thank you for showing up, supporting us, and making Froth part of your lives,” Froth continued.

Wayland Brewing Drops First Ever Collab Beer

Wayland Brewing has released their first ever collaboration – Errant Path, a 5% double decocted Czech-style pilsner that was structured around Edelweiss, a heritage barley variety. “The resulting beer has wonderful notes of bread dough and a honey-like sweetness, and is balanced with an herbal, almost green-tea like hop character,” the brewery said. It’s floral, with crisp and refreshing notes of biscuit malt. Errant Path is on tap and in cans at Wayland, as well as in limited quantities at Strangebird and at select retailers.

Wayland has also released Red Sky, a modern twist on a Red IPA. Red Sky is made with barley, wheat, hand-selected 2025 Mosaic hops and small amounts of crystal malts. “Expect notes of berry, pine sap, nettle and a bit of citrus,” the brewery said. The beer is lightly malted and light bodied with hoppy and citrus notes. You can find Red Sky on tap and in cans at Wayland.

Other Half Beer Pairing Dinner at Rationales

Rationales are teaming up with Other Half Brewing for a special 5-course beer pairing dinner on Jan. 29 (6 pm). The dinner will feature five 10oz. Other Half beers – Gotham Gold Dortmunder Lager, Doug Cascadian Dark Ale, Space Broccoli Imperial Hazy IPA, Velvet Magnum IX Pastry Stout and Cannibal Whip Sour – each paired with a different food course to highlight the dish and beer. Tickets and $60 ($25 deposit required) and can be purchased here. A limited amount of tickets remain.

42 North The Vault will open inside The Bank Shot, an East Aurora indoor golf recreation facility, at (670 Main St.) on Feb. 2. 42 North Brewing will operate the bar, serving craft beer, wine and liquor made in New York. New York State Brewers Association’s 24 NYS Beers of Holiday Cheer

The New York State Brewers Association is once again putting together 24 beers from 24 New York breweries for the 24 NYS Beers of Holiday Cheer, a beer advent calendar. The special beer box features a variety of styles, ranging from stouts, IPAs, lagers, sours and more from breweries such as Wayland Brewing, Frequentem Brewing, Mortalis Brewing, Smoldered Society and more. In addition to the beer, you will receive a tasting notes guide, NYS Craft Beer sticker bundle and a Think NY, Drink NY koozie. The beer box costs $149 and can be ordered online.

Lighting of Fireplace, Beer & Cider Release at Hamburg Brewing

Hamburg Brewing will hold the annual lighting of the fireplace in their taproom on Nov. 19 (7 pm). There will be live music from Sue Kincaid & Doug Yeomans starting at 7 pm and Frosty the IPA will make its return to the brewery. “Your official kickoff to cozy season is here!” the brewery said. “Grab your flannel, bring your crew, and let’s make memories by the crackling fire that’ll warm you all winter long.” The event is free and open to the public.

Wayland Brewing To Take Over Lille Belle Taproom in Lancaster

Wayland Brewing has announced plans to expand its empire with a third taproom. The brewery is teaming up with Buffalo Bros Burgers to take over the Lilly Belle Meads taproom in Lancaster, which will close later this year. The 2,400 sq. ft. space will operate as a traditional taproom with 16 taps and a food menu similar to Buffalo Bros’ location in the Village of Hamburg, featuring smashburgers, chicken sandwiches, and more. The site features seating for about 40 inside and another 30 outside, with plans to add another 30 seats inside next year. They plan to be open next spring. Lilly Belle will close their taproom on December 20 and will move all mead production to West Seneca at Rusty Nickel.

Hofbrauhaus Welcomes Back Winterzwickel

Hofbrauhaus Buffalo will tap their Winterzwickel, a 5.5% dark beer specially brewed for the winter season with hints of caramel, toasted bread, plum, raisin and chocolate, on Dec. 6 (6pm). The barrel tapping and traditional parade will be led by Men’s Stein Holding Champion, James, and will feature live music from Die Haus Band. Beer Kind Brewing To Close In December, Announce Beer Sales

Beer Kind Brewing has announced plans to close during the month of December as owners Alex and Jen Buckley prepare to welcome a new addition to their family. “As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, we’ll be taking a break from brewing and closing the taproom in December to spend time together as a family,” they said. They will resume normal operations after the New Year.

The brewery is running numerous sales on their beer. On Nov. 8 and 15, all growler fills will be $10–$12 and 4-packs of cans will be $15 all November.

You can also take part in the Secret Santa 4 Pack Presale, which runs Nov. 1 – 15, and includes four “festive” beers, each of which is wrapped for you to peel and reveal what Beer Kind Santa brewed for you, including exclusive brews not available on tap. 42 North Brewing Barrel Jam V This Weekend

42 North Brewing will host the fifth annual Barrel Jam on Saturday, Jan. 25 (2-5pm), which celebrates the art of barrel-aging beers with live music and winter sports. Participating breweries include Brewery Ardennes, Eli Fish Brewing, Meier’s Creek Brewing, Jack’s Abby, Drowned Lands, Ommegang, Strangebir, Prison City, Ellicottville Brewing, 1927 BrewHouse, 1911, and 42 North. Wild East Brewing Tap Takeover at Brewed & Bottled

Brooklyn’s Wild East Brewing is taking over the taps at Brewed & Bottled in Lewiston on Jan. 24 (5pm). Brewery owner Lindsay Steen will be on-hand to hang out and chat beer and will be bringing along Mischief & Mayhem (Bohemian Style Wheat Lager), Turnstyle Nopal (Margarita Inspired Sour with Prickly Pear) and Bourbon Barrel Aged Belligerence Barleywine on draft and Moderance ESB with vanilla and cocoa on cask. A little more on Wild East Brewing – they combine classic European brewing techniques with modern American craft beer innovations to produce farmhouse-style & mixed fermentation ales, unfiltered hazy IPAs & pilsners, barrel-aged sours and more.

One-Eyed Cat Brewing Becomes One-Eyed Cat Craft House

Williamsville’s One-Eyed Cat Brewing has become One-Eyed Cat Craft House. They have stopped brewing and have shifted focus to serving local beer on tap and craft cocktails made with local spirits. They also have a new menu featuring food from Pork Bellies BBQ. “We’ve stopped brewing, but don’t worry; good things are coming your way! Resurgence Brewing Drops White Russian, Big Lebowski-Inspired Beer

Resurgence Brewing has officially released Another Caucasian, Gary, a White Russian-style White Stout inspired by the film “The Big Lebowski” in cans. This beer, originally a homebrew created by the Buffalo Beer League’s Scott McMillan that won The Dude Hates Cancer Homebrew Contest, is light bodied and sessionable at 5.5% with notes of coffee, creamy vanilla, and chocolate. Other Half Buffalo Celebrates 11^th Anniversary

Other Half Buffalo is celebrating the brewery’s 11th anniversary in February with three weeks of beer releases and events. Amped! Week will kick off on Jan. 23 with the release of a number special beers, including DHDHC Double Citra Daydream, an Imperial Oat Cream IPA with hand-selected Citra hops, 11th Anniversary Imperial IPA, which features Citra, Anchovy, Nelson Sauvin, and Motueka hops, ⁠10th Anniversary Triple Dry Hopped Triple IPA, Juiced Juice Double NEIPA and more. Tonawanda Winterfest: Beer, Bourbon & Wine Tasting

There will be a special beer, bourbon and wine tasting at the Tonawanda Winterfest, which takes place Jan. 17 at the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome. Tickets are $30 in advance ($35 at the door) and include 10 drink tastings, including craft beer from Resurgence Brewing and bourbon from Three Chord, finger foods from the Grill at the Dome, mini golf, and live music from Miller & the Saints. Belt Line Brewery to Host Special Wing Flight Night

Belt Line Kitchen and Brewery are pairing their best beer with their best wings at a special event dinner on Jan. 23 (7pm). Tickets are $34 and include a “Welcome Beer” upon arrival, 12 wing flight (4 different flavors, 3 wings each) paired with four 7oz. beers hand selected by Belt Line brewers to complement each of the wing flavors, and $5 beers specials after that. Thin Man Brewery Drops New Zealand-Style Pale Ale

Thin Man is releasing a brand new pale ale, Destination Palm Trees, a New Zealand-style pale brewed with NZ Kohatu, Wakatu, and Tango hops. Destination Palm Trees is a 4.6% pale ale that features a classic pale ale malt profile with a hint of malt sweetness, biscuit and cracker notes, notes of citrus, pineapple, and sweet fruit flavors, as well as a balanced bitterness. The Lock Tender to Launch New Monthly Tasting Series

Lockport’s The Lock Tender is launching Monthly Tap Tender on Jan. 25, a new year-long series featuring beers tasting from New York City to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Florida and more. Beginning on Jan. 25 with beers from New York City, Monthly Tap Tender events will cost $20, which include a commemorative tasting glass, 10 6oz. samples, $2 off 4- and 6-packs, $2 off regular Urban Rural BBQ meals and 1 half price draft. There are 2 sessions – 12-3pm and 3-6pm. 42 North Brewing will host its fifth ‘Barrel Jam’ barrel-aged beer festival on Saturday, January 25 in East Aurora. The event celebrates winter and the art of barrel-aging beers with live music and winter sports.

Barrel Jam brings together nationally acclaimed breweries, each bringing innovative barrel-aged beers. Fifteen breweries, cideries, and distilleries will participate this year, including:

• Brewery Ardennes – Rum Barrel-Aged Quad, wood-aged Wild Cherry Sour
• Brewery Ommegang – Barrel-Aged Three Philosopher, Boulevard Brewing Rye on Rye
• Jack’s Abby – Expresso Barrel-Aged Framinghammer, Coconut Rum Barrel-Aged Framinghammer
• Eli Fish Brewing – Chateau Tropicale (fruited tropical Brett beer), Methodology #1 (traditional Koelschip ale)
• Drowned Lands – Double Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout, Foeder Aged Black Lager

The event will also feature a Rail Jam ski/snowboard competition hosted by Holiday Valley with a ramp and rail setup in the alley behind the brewery. The event concludes with the upbeat, reggae sounds of Olmsted Dub System in the taproom at 5pm.

The event runs from 2-5pm, with VIP ticket holders getting a special one-hour advance tasting window starting at 1pm. Seneca Brewtopia Beer Festival at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

The first ever Seneca Brewtopia Beer Festival at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino will take place on Nov. 23. Breweries scheduled to attend include Resurgence Brewing, BlackBird Cider Works, Founders Brewing, Great Lakes Brewing, 42 North Brewing, Labatt, Wicked Weed and Kona Brewing with more to be announced. Tickets are $40 (if purchased before Oct. 1) and $55 (if purchased Oct. 2 or after) and include commemorative sampling glass, $15 ticket exchange voucher and a soft pretzel. Fifth Annual NYS Pint Days Returns May 2025

The 5th annual New York State Pint Days, a statewide event where $1 per pint glass sold at participating breweries directly supports the New York State Brewers Association, returns May 1-5, 2025. Each year the NYS Pint Days Glass features a unique design that celebrates NYS craft beer. This year’s commemorative glass will be designed by Em Sauter, an award-winning cartoonist and founder of Pints and Panels, a site dedicated to visual beer education. Participating breweries will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Big Ditch Brewing Drops Non-Alcoholic Beer, NA Burner

Big Ditch Brewing has released NA Burner, the first non-alcoholic brew canned in Buffalo in nearly a century. NA Burner packs all the hoppy aroma and flavor of Hayburner into a non-alcoholic IPA – a 12oz. can contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume and contains only 50 calories.
